I HAVE A DREAM..... that one day an elder scrolls game will Implement All out Roman Style battles in big open plains like in the movie gladiator or something where you can lose and gain territory and take over and siege a city and use Napoleonic strategy with you Generals at your assistance

you start out a soldier for the empire you fight/work your way up the ranks in Monster battles and become a General or Emperor you declare wars go crazy arrows everywhere swords swinging bodies everwhere. HOW WOULD THIS NOT BE COOl... there just is not something like this WELL MADE anywhere...

There is nothing like this 'well made' for a reason. That kind of battle is very testing on any hardware. How can something of such a scale be implemented into a game that is already so enormous. It isn't really TES material, either.
I'd love massive fights too, but we'll have to wait some time for that to happen.

There aren't enough people in Tamriel to do any large scale battles. They still think villages with 10 buildings are "cities".

Technically, I'm sure downscaling the graphics to those of the 90's era would make enormous battles easily possible.

So you want a roman warfare rpg/strategy game that utilizes the engine from Skyrim?

This is silly, play an RTS there are some great ones out there. But this would basically be impossible if ES were to stay a RPg with quests and a detailed world.

Such a game would be fun, but it wouldn't be a main TES title. It would have to be a spin-off.

Worked for Mount and Blade

Besides the obvious -ish spelling, it's not like this hasn't been asked before. The only problem is as of right now there are two roads to walk down. You can go towards large scale battles and lose a ton of detail and fun stuff to do or you can go down the road of an RPG

What are you talking about?

Clearly he/she's talking about a dream. Yes, it's not possible while keeping up-to-date on the ever increasing demand on graphics, but it's a pretty good dream, I'd say. It has no relevance to Skyrim or any existing Bethesda games, but it's an interesting wish, I'd say.

When a new system comes out in 79 years it would be tight. Something with Bethesda softworks Signature on it. Nothing like rome total war.. real story too it Real war concepts of battle.

SORRY if this concept is too insulting to you Elder scrolls Geeks just relax. I love Elder Scrolls just saying

I'm sure Bethesda could make a game like that if they wanted to... but they don't. If they did, it wouldn't be TES then now would it? I'm sure I'd buy it since it has their name on it but if it's not broken, don't fix it.

I've read somewhere that Morrowind was originally going to be on the main land and called Tribunal. They intended to have large epic battles like the OP is suggesting.

It's not insulting, it's just that we've had this suggestion before over 9000 times.

Wow go play Lord of the rings....My point is how bad games like those are :banghead:

And why would another game doing the same thing (sacrificing gameplay for big battles) do any better? I like Bethesda, but I don't have enough faith in anyone to do it and do it well.

No thank you. IMO that's just a slightly twisted RTS doesn't belong to TES...and yes why is this in the Skyrim section? :P

I'd probably like it, if it were done better than Myth2... but that's not even possible these days.

...Just buy Rome: Total War. No need to switch genres just for something like this. Sure a few huge battle scenes would be awesome, but not controlling them.
