Post » Tue Jul 05, 2011 8:09 am

Not sure if this is new but In the new PSM, the one with the Ninja Gaiden 3 cover. In the big 10 news feature, #2 talks about Skyrim, in the last paragraph Todd states clearly that greaves and cuirass are merged into armor.

and it limits the ability for your character to customize his/her armor. Its not the apocalypses, but it certainly is an inconvenience for those who like wearing part of the armor but not the whole thing.

What does he say?

He says when they were making the armor alot of the bottom of the cuirass's were so long that "pants" were only about 5% of what you saw, so having them seperatly was pointless, so they merged them. That's paraphrased because I read it in Walmart when I was there.

I still don't really see what the issue is really....

What would you mix that would be cooler than wearing the cuirass and greaves of the same set?

Could not care less if I tried.

As long as shirts and pants are seperate I'm fine, armor looks awful if it doesn't have its matching greaves anyway.

Cuirasses, but what about shirts?

Plus how long can normal armor be? That would be a bad excuse IMO.

yeah, if we can customize armor with smithing I won't care so much, but if it's just collect x amount of iron ore and and make slightly better iron helmet that looks the same then this is sad news. But I hopefull for the crafting system.

You lose an enchantment "slot". Also, remember the guard armor sets in Oblivion? Chainmail boots/greaves/helmet/gauntlets, with a special town guard cuirass and shield. The mixing of cuirasses and greaves has had made sense in TES.

I'm not assuming anything at the moment. I'm in the I don't care about cuirass/greaves group (as in i don't care if they do decide to merge them in the final game).
The whole apocolypes thing it how i've seen people react to this whole thing( its a non issue for me) . The game hasn't even come out yet a lot of people are automatically assuming they have.

In Elder Scrolls VII, there will only be one set of armor that your character wears and can not be taken off.
