Grenades, mines, and throwable objects

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:44 am

i would say grenades are in for sure see them in the combat demo being thrown buy pc and the bad guys

mines im sure will make return as they are easy weapon to create dev wise as they are not as crasy custom like most of weapons

ie frag mines is a frag mine

mines were godsend against super mutants and enclave because they love rush you when you go around a corner

Agree with the grenades and mines in previous games. I used to use them every chance I got as my character was a mix of stealth and engineer. Really liked the reverse-pickpocket grenade and mine trick. I'm wondering if they'll be somewhat customizable, although maybe not to the extent of guns and armor.

I might be recalling poorly, but I think said mod required NVSE a script program which may never be allowed on consoles . . .but that is me speculating.

I would like QuakeCon to show some more footage of the variety of grenades and mines that will be in the game.

Some sort of incendiary grenade, laser trip mine, or sticky grenade would be most welcomed.

I liked to set traps with mines and lead enemies through them. Also grenades are handy for attacking enemies around corners if you bounce them just right. I am excited to see how they are handled in F4.

I'm hoping that grenades, mines, and other explosive stuffs can be customized like the weapons and armor.

Can you even imagine modifying mines or grenades with mini-nukes? :D

Yes! I am hoping you can upgrade them or make shrapnel grenades or flame mines or something to that effect.

Thinking about it, I never ever did try shooting a mini-nuke that was just sitting somewhere, or shooting a grenade that was just just dropped somewhere.

Do either of these asplode if you shoot them with a laser or bullet?

Still, it'd be all sorts of nice if you could put a timer on a mini-nuke, and lob it into a room, or an area, and then have another one on another timer delayed to take advantage of the ensuing chaos and enemy NPCs reactions to all of it.

I don't expect we'll be able to do such devious strategic stuff, but, it would be nice if we could make more kinds of traps than just tossing a mine somewhere, or bypassing a trap that's already set up and luring the enemy NPCs into their own traps.

Never found the wacko who rigged an area up with mini nukes in Fallout 3?

I never use mines, but grenades? Ooooh, boy.

Can't say I never laughed when those BoS members got EMP'd to death.

I really don't know. I seem to recall playing Fallout 3 quite very thoroughly, and I'm fairly particular about exploring everything where I usually take an hour or longer to explore and poke at everything everywhere, dragging objects around to see if anything is hidden anywhere, where most people only take like 10 minutes.

I don't remember a room or area rigged up with a bunch of mini nukes set to asplode as traps. Hmm.

Just imagine walking down an alleyway, and unintentially setting off a mininuke chain reaction. The guy placed frag mines near a bunch of mininukes and if you set one off, you'd be shot into orbit from the blast.

I also wouldn't mind some decent throwing knives or something similar.

I'm thinking of an grenade launcher under an rifle.

To go totally nut the rock it launcher could be used to shoot more stuff, including grenades and mines

One of my best playthroughs of New Vegas was with an explosive obsessed pyromaniac character based on the Trash Can Man from Stephen King's The Stand. He had high intelligence, repair and science skills, and due to his paranoid schizophrenia had very low charisma, speech and barter, so he took the Mad Bomber perk early and built improvised explosives out of anything he could scavenge, as well as using a flamer up close.

Like you, I find it a little disconcerting that we haven't seen much explosives-based gameplay. I just hope they haven't neglected this aspect because, as I say, it was great fun, and I hope to make a similar character in F4 at some point.

Trash was a tragic character... especially in the novel. So much could have gone different if someone had taught him to channel his gifts to something a little less destructive.

Mini-nuke mine? There you go

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fat_mine_(Mad_Bomber)_(GRA)

And somebody wanted timed nukes? Also nuclear cluster explosives? Done!

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mini_nuke_(Fallout:_New_Vegas)#Timed

Some reasons why I liked NV so much.

Also "overkill" and "enuff dakka" are things that only exist in theory .... :D

Gun Runners' Arsenal is an under appreciated DLC, but that's a topic for a different board. :)

I'm hoping they also have a longer animation for when enemies are throwing grenades at you so we have more time to shoot them out of their hands.
