Grendel a bit useless with burst-fire?

I've been trying out the Grendel lately (yay I worked around the unlock bug!...somewhat... lol)
It's stats appear to be quite good but I just can't seem to kill anyone with it due to the burst fire mode... do you think they should make it fully automatic, with burstfire as a firemode option?

I didn't get on with it either. The pause between bursts gets you killed. But if you can be very accurate with it ie give someone a face burst, it's ok. You just have to be more accurate with it.

I love the Grendel, I prefer a couple of precise shots over full auto.
shame that that aproach has absolutely no plus sides in comparison with the Scar( a.k.a. heavy snipermachinegunturretdeathmachine).
Idd love to see a bit more power in the grendel so that it can actually stand up against spray and prey attacks

the grendel is pretty nice if you hit all your shots but it has very little room for error or bad latency. You basically can't miss a burst or your dead.

I like the concept of the Grendel..but..

The bad thing is that the SCAR is basically better than every weapon at everything, even full auto sniping at 100 meters or so.

Grendel is useless against people with high ping.
You can shoot a whole clip that you won't hit any bullet.

The actual Crysis 2 metagame only involves automatic weapons like the scar/feline/scarab capables of hitting high ping players.
Mike is fine too.

I have found its more of a mid range weapon. Close, your toast, long your toast. Pod capping maps at range, you can get 5-6 kills in 30 seconds however with proper placement (well away from the pod mind you). I think that bout every weapon but the scar you are going to use for a bit of a challange, not to get a high KDR. Man, you should have seen my Nova self hate fest!

Edit: Maps with a proper blooby objective would work well with it, eg BF2.

Further Edit: The run and gun gets on my diddies sometimes, possibly im just getting old :)

It's hyper run n gun in this game. Feels like Black OPs (same freaking score sounds). My buddy who owns me in many games couldn't handle the zipping around. It's almost impossible to utilize a precise weapon save on the City Hall map where I was able to hold down a position with the scar, ironically, but ran out of freaking ammo before I could get my 7th kill. Maybe if I had used the Grendel I could have saved some ammo. BTW, my death ray (whatever the 5 killstreak weapon is called on that map) got kills but they didn't add to my kill total so I stayed at 5 kills before and after it completed! That **** svcks.

This would be the inherent problem with all the cloaking. The fights will be super close range almost all the time.

Ceph gunship.

And you're partially right, the Ceph gunship doesn't add to your total points... Sometimes. I think it's a bug, but I didn't want to report it because it seemed like no one else was having this problem. Interesting to see that someone besides myself is having point-recording issues after using a Ceph gunship.
