I haven't bothered getting it yet so I don't know what you're talking about. But I'd suggest using the SCAR if it bugs you.

You can drop a CEPH in 2 headshots with that puppy.
The hollow 6.8 is devastating, but so is the muzzle rise. Switch it to semi and keep your distance. You'll land more hits and waste less ammo.

It seem really underpowered in Multi-player compared to the SCAR. It doesn't do enough damage to warrant it firing in three round burst. If it going to fire a three round burst, if all three bullets hit it should kill someone who it not in armor mode. The range difference between the two is almost non-existent.

for me grendel kills in 2 maybe 3 bursts it is pretty powerful you just have less room for error if you miss. The grendel is best used in open areas not cqb situations. Also if you attach the single fire you can then hit 2 then you can tap fire as fast as you want but I have been using the extended mags on it. I was also trying out better hip fire with it.

To anyone masochistic enough to use grendel as it is right now due to the delay between each burst: semi-auto. Nothing else. You'll find it better after getting used to it, whether short, medium or long range. After a while you'll realize that the SCAR fares as much as the grendel does in almost every situation if used on semi-auto, then proceed to put back full auto to increase your efficiency and put back one of the rifle add-ons.

The Grendel is highly accurate and very powerful as is. It seems more so in multiplayer, and could use a improvement and more availability in single play. Has anyone been able to get a silencer or laser sight for it?

In SP it's OK, in MP it just svck, the SCAR outperform it even at long range, don't bother unlocking it.
They should have made it full auto with high recoil, unlike the airsoft guns "spray and pray friendly" we have now in most of the modern fps.

The weapons to me that stand out as of right now are SCAR or SCARAB if you have it unlocked, or if you like melee stealth kills, meaning that goes with mobility, take JACKAL. MARSHALL is a-ok but I find JACKAL a lot more reliable.

Oh and widened crosshair sight > laser sight. I'm a little annoyed when I see our nanoguy cruising on slow jogging speed that he doesn't try to keep that frigging weapon of his a little more "on guard", sorta speak. Makes laser sight a little... you know... And when you start shooting since he's wobbling his gun so much by the time the laser starts to point you already spewed about at least a half dozen bullets, depending on the rate of fire of your gun.

Guys the gun is fine the way it is, but when you put the silencer on it in multi and use single shot its not even silenced. That's got to be a bug

in SP, it is the ultimate assault rifle against the Ceph. of course, the weapon to end all Ceph in SP is the HMG since it kills everything with the greatest ease when used right (single magazine kills a tripod in about 30 seconds without damage). but the Grendel in SP is 10x better than the SCAR for killing alliens.

in MP? from my (short) experience with the Grendel, it's worse. it's supposed to be the "heavy" variant. but aside from it's comparatively svcky 3 burst, there's nothing "heavy" about it.

I don't think its underpowered. I think the SCAR is overpowered. Despite this, I try my best to use it as I have high hopes for this weapon.

As a result, I have devised a specific play-style for the Grendel.

I stealth hard, use vantage points to seek and destroy and make sure I take shots that I can take. One 3x shot burst is insta-kill, two-three 3x bursts if armored. Long-range snipe with single shot and an assault scope does even more damage. And if I can't deliver, I stealth out and sneak away. I rarely use armor mode in this circumstance. It gives me more mobility to do hit and runs to the extreme. It doesn't rack up kills as quickly, but keeps my kdr very high. I try to stay away from cqb's, but for those "oh ****" moments, I use the shotgun attachment + armor then melee. Usually does the trick if I get at least one shot in. The best part of this playstyle is that I get hell of a lot of spectre kills too. Every time I get those I feel giddy no matter how bad I am doing.

It is a very unforgiving play style though so it can be frustrating and I more confident on other maps than others so map knowledge is key.

Grendel is fine in my opinion, but the SCAR needs to be nerfed.

This is my observations on MP of course. In SP it was the only rifle I used. It owned Ceph and Cell alike.
