Grinding may not be dead

It becomes a rhythm after a while, also once you become comfortable with the people you are grouping with, as in knowing how they are going to react to situations and you find out you can rely on them its awesome. I spent all my beta weekends after lvl 15 grinding and once i hit 21 and there was no more xp in auridon i went to cyrodiil and loved it, i helped a ton of people lvl that had no idea about grinding, even had one guy ask me if i missed EQ lol, i guess because i like to grind over questing. To me i turn some tunes on and get into a rhythm when the mob spawns and setup a path and something i really love about this game is that the trash mobs drop better look than the boss mobs in the open dungeons, so you dont have to think about camping this boss or that, if hes up you kill him and go on. The area i was pathing had 3 boss mobs and in all my lvls and hours there i think the only gear color they were dropping was blue and each one had a particular one and that was it but i got a ton of purples out of their off trash.

No flame here, some people prefer to quest and be led around by the nose and others dont. Grinding i don't have to worry if this person or that person in the group is at the same point in the quest, i dont have to worry if everyone got the drops they needed, since the quest counts are not shared, i just kill anything in my path and keep moving, almost no down time and fast respawns i lvl faster from that then spending 4 hours of running from point a to b. like i said some people like it and some dont, i prefer it over questing and i am happy that we have a choice, it gives it that sandbox feeling to some extent to me.

There is no need to vote its already in the game and you need to change your hunting areas because the mobs do spawn really really fast. With a party of 6 we hardly ever had any downtime waiting on mobs to respawn in the area we were in. There is really no need to find a group just get 1 or 2 people and you are set, i promise i converted a lot of people this weekend over to grinding lol. So many were of the mind set that questing is better but after an hour of full bags lots of cash and nice increase in xp i had them sending me tells everytime i logged on to see if i was going grinding. It is a very viable option verse questing and not only that you get to lvl your crafting from the drops so its a win win, i think i ended beta with 32 in Blacksmithing, 20 to 25 in the rest just from deconstructing items, i learned my lesson about crafting from this, its not worth the time to farm mats and such just go kill mobs for drops.

If by quests you mean go kill 10 boars then sure. I understand your perspective. However I wrote, "actual quests". Meaning. I don't want to be led by the nose. I want actual story and some imaginative experiences. You could argue that killing twenty billion boars is akin to "beeing led by the nose" =P

And that is in the game, go do it, like i said some people like it and some dont and at least now we have the option to choose. How is killing mobs being led by the nose, i choose where i go and what i kill and how fast i kill them, its all my choice not some npc telling me to go to place a kill mob x then return so he can send me back out again. If you like that kind of stuff great and if it lets you build your own fantasy world or rp whatever then awesome i am happy for it. I prefer to grind its more productive to me and i honestly dont care about story or lore or any of the other stuff and never had in my 13 yrs playing these games but i am glad that you can find what you like just as i can :)

Sure, if the design philosophy don't center around 'grinding' per se and is a viable alternative for you, then I'm all for killing a variety of domestic animals as well ;)

And you know it doesnt center around grinding but it is a viable option and there are a great variety of things other than animals to kill also :)

From what you are saying, it will be good for me to do solo grinding, as I do NOT want to go up levels too fast. :)
