Grosta - "Now my son has died"

Grosta will comment on her childs death if you happen to kill him (via mod) I wonder why they included dialogue for it if they never intended for children to be killable?

Theory: In the first version, the player should search for her son, and not her husband. Then, they changed that, so no player must have the feeling that he did come to late to save a child.

Does it mention him by name or merely the generic "my son died, Things won't be the same without him" or something of that ilk, because its a generic line that all or most non-unique voiced npc's have. Not all sons or daughters in the game are childen, Yvette San for instance.

I think I read somewhere that their original plan was to have killable children and then smartened up. There's a lot of phantom code left in the game. They apparently had some great ideas like bear pits and an arena. Giants were going to be more than mindless beasts etc..
