Edit: not referencing, i mean translation or moving. sorry.
I searched this, but i might be asking the wrong question.
is it possible to select multiple objects then create a group, then duplicate them so i can move them altogether to another location at the same time?
thanks

Hold ALT and click several objects, and or CTRL and C to copy, CTRL and V to paste, CTRL and D to duplicate once selected. I hope that helps and it's what you are looking for.

thank you for the reply.
i did try that. but when i click on a different object, it just highlights that object.
Im trying to duplicate a fireplace, lighting and everything, so i can move as one unit or group to place in another location of the interior im working in.

I don't think its possible to group or lock (link) them as one object. but something I do if I need a lot of stuff duplicated is create a new cell with all my grouped objects set out easily so I can find them in the spare cell and copy/dupe them easily ect.

I would need a way to group or "move things together" too...

I want to relocated the whole content of a cell to new coordinates.
Doubleclicking only let me enter new coordinates for one object - my cell contains about 300 and rising...
Selecting all and move them with the mouse is way to inaccurate...

Is it possible to define a "Master"-object and tell the others to xyz-reference to this? Or anything else to speed things up?

Yeah that would be nice.. for my floating fortress I've had a request to put it higher in the air. I did that once and it was a disaster in selecting (it's not huge but just on the crosspoint of 4 cells) and in most ways I kept selecting things on the ground. When I finally moved it half (well 1/10th)of the fortress was left behind and it was a distaster, and a timedrain.
I've gotten request to put it even higher but I don't even dare think about it.

The GECKs had that very nice Static Collection feature. You selected a couple of objects (not just statics) pressed Ctrl+G and the Editor not only grouped the objects but made a new NIF file. It had more practical applications than just the grouping, the groups were a bit more efficient because matching textures were combined, and of course you could use the new NIFs as standalone-statics.

The CK still has the Static Collection group to tease us, but it's empty and Ctrl+G doesn't work either. :nope:

Hold the CTRL key and you can select multiple objets for manipulation like dupe, move, rotate, etc., but I could not find a way to group them (semi) permanently.
I use this for making lots of something (like weapon racks), but it can be real pain if you slip up as you have a bunch of duped objects right on top of the originals. DOH !
A "Create group" would be very welcome.

Yep, and a option to lock that group would be a hugh asset to!

I′ve just spend a hour to reposition walls and clutter because they had relocated themself... don′t know how - was working far away from that part of the cell - but it happend!

Was testing the 3rd floor of my mansion as I noticed bumping sounds from the cellar. Down there I opened the door to a storageroom and it looked like I′ve thrown a handgrenade into it... two walls and the floor where moved in about 25px from its origin... messing up clutter and havok settling! :yuck:

Selecting and moving by error can be ruled out - wasn′t working even near that part -> and if so, it would have relocated much more objects... stupid CK :ermm:

I also wish (over and over and over...) that there was a way to group objects in a cell. Or be able to tag them somehow so that you could find and select specific objects in the Cell View list. Or that there was a layer system so you could only see and work with items in selected layers. The ability to turn selected layers invisible/visible or into wireframe would also be handy.

Efficiently being able to find, select and manipulate different groups of similar objects has so far been my biggest frustration working in the Creation Kit. (Although, admittedly, I haven't spent as much time in it as many others have.)

I realize this post doesn't help the discussion much, but I'm hoping the developers take it as a vote to add this functionality, or at least address the issue. :)

You can keyword every object. That helps a lot to find them in cell view window. Every object I duplicate and place gets a prefix, but that doesn′t help when objects become dislocated... or if you need to move a whole group...
