So I honestly do not know why it happens. Most of the mods I'm using are ones which I've run through this part of the game before, with no issues. But the problem is this - once I enter the Milchar Nexus, and then activate the door to enter the Grove, I get the sound of the quest updating after the loading screen, and the game crashes. I thought it might be something that the game is trying to equip on the clone that doesn't work for it, like it does the player, but I can't say.

The character is using the Lemure race, and is a Vampire. This is actually the second time I've played the character, and previously I didn't have any problems like this.

All the mods I'm using have been sorted by BOSS, with only two of them being unrecognized. One of them I've sorted(Flan's Lemure.esp), and the other(Vampires - No Sun Damge.esp), I would do the same, although I'm not sure where it should be placed. All of them are their most up to date versions as well.

I don't know if it is the cause of your crashes, but... it wouldn't hurt to remove it, so you can check if you got problems\crashes
