Grow a Beard for Skyrim!

Post » Wed Feb 16, 2011 7:41 pm

Speaking of beards in the movie Robin Hood a french soldier on the beach landing has a foot wide bushy beard that reaches his belt!! That was cool he looked like a chunky hobo in Armour with a spear and shield. I think he had a spear not sure. It was cool though.

Well, I'm about to do my first lip trim rather than a rough stubble shave with a beard trimmer. What I normally do at this stage. It's starting curl under my lip and interferes with eating, but I am committed to "out Nord" you all! :P

I'm 16 and can only grow a dirt stache and a scruffy, thick chinstrap style beard.Challenge accepted.

That's the right attitude. I call lazy on the rest of people giving excuses. You'll never grow a Nordic beard with those attitudes.

I'm afraid my job prospects would be lower if I wasn't clean shaven. :(

Thankfully software developers aren't exactly known for being the most clean-shaven people. I don't think I'll have any problems on that end.

Anyone can grow a beard... but real dedication to Skyrim requires that you braid your beard.

Thank you Lady Nerevar, for creating that group. I started to put one together, but then I saw your already quite active group, and let it be. That is, indeed, the greatest hat the world has ever known by the way.

I've had a beard since I was 16ish. I am 22 now, and have longer hair.

I win Skyrim?

Tell me about it. I have a few spots were it likes to go it's own direction contrary to the rest. <_<

If I make it far enough along, I intend to braid mine, at least for a picture. Within the next week or two I'll have the longest beard I have ever grown. Should be interesting.

Well, I haven't shaved since a little before Skyrim was announced. I've been shaving all but the sideburns for about a year, so I wasn't sure if my hair had started growing in thicker/faster yet. The answer is.. not really. I'm a scraggly-pube face. Looks like I won't be having a big manly beard for skyrim, oh well.

Ok people, update us on your progress. (Read: bump)

At this point in time, I have the fullest, and longest beard I've ever grown, and it's driving me nuts! I'm at the awkward stage of growing a beard. (A little over an inch.)

It's itchy, and wild to say the least. I think some follicles read the DNA coding upside down or backwards and grow completely opposite to how they should. When they should look like this |) they look like |( (Shifting the bottom of the bracket to the right until the top meets my face, being the |.)

So who else is still hanging in there? How's it going for you?

Anyone else care to take up the challenge? I dare you. :poke:

man I would look wayyy too sixy with a well termed beard, and I think it will become a crime to walk on the street, I won't grow it long though I would look like an old wizard then :P

man I will be beating women and men away from me with a stick :poke:

I'm 19 and I need to shave every few days or I look like a tramp

It's not all good news though. My beard, unlike my hair, is ginger. I don't really know what caused this

I (kind of) know how you feel, my hair is brown, and most of my beard is brown but on both sides of my chin it grows in red, its really weird and thats normally the only reason i dont try for a super long beard, that and it gets itchy >_>.

I already have a beard. I suppose I could grow a longer beard. I used to have a long braided beard, a single thick braid about 6 inchs long, took quite a while to grow.

My beard is about 3 inches long now, if you take the longest chin hairs and measure them straight. My beard is a bit wavy, so it only appears to be about 2 inches.

The beard is long enough now that I've stopped shaving my neck. From the front, this looks fine, as my beard actually covers my neck, but from profile, the neckular area it looks like it has some filling in to do. I'm convinced that the neck hair will only contribute to the overall look of the beard, but not until it fills out.

I've been trimming my moustache off my top lip, but letting the sides go long. This doesn't look as good as I thought it would. My moustache was quite long at one point, and it looked fantastic, but eating something like a cheeseburger was a challenge. I freaking love cheeseburgers, which is why I trimmed the 'stache. I'm going to try letting it grow long again, but eat a burger with..... *gulp*.... a knife and fork. Blasphemy, I know.

Some family has been waging all out war on my beard. (Read: mother-in-law.) I've been stalwart about it so far, and I don't intend to change that.

The hair on my head got quite scraggly. I briefly thought about letting it grow, but then changed my mind and had it cut short. Didn't touch the beard, don't worry.
