Seriously? I put 50+ hours into this game, doing sidequest and just finding every location. Now EVERY time i try and go back into New Vegas, the game freezes. I've cleared my cache, dropped items maybe i shouldnt of gotten(NCR veteran armor...i sniped the guy and got it) but nothing has worked. So...any suggestions? Or am i just screwed?

Did you kill a guy and take his hat?

If so, wait for the patch next week or go buy an Old Cowboy Hat at Mick and Ralph's and wear it when entering the Strip.

Seriously, at first i thought you were messing with me, but i said screw it and tried it. Well, mick and ralph wont sell me anything now????? I choose the option that says "Show me what you have for sale" and they say "sure, have a look" and then nothing happens. WTF!?!?! So i just stole a hat in the upstairs area, stripped almost naked, and got into the strip!! Yipee!! So thanx for that advice. But now, if i enter a casino and exit it, it just freezes. :swear: I can walk about 4 or 5 steps, then it freezes. Thanx Obsidian!!! Your halfa$$ job on this game makes me hate the fact even more that lazy a-holes like you can "patch" stuff after releasing it. THIS GAME SHOULD OF NEVER BEEN RELEASED THIS EARLY. Sorry, i know its been said a thousand times on here, but i just kinda laughed at it cause it never happened to me. Now it has, and i have to scream it too. A big 1 finger salute to the developers.

in all my 3 playthroughs, i have never went into vegas!


this 4th time after the patch comes out for 360 dangit i am going there!

uh for the guy whos trying to buy the cowboy hat,youre wasting your time,There are atleast 3 scattered around in the shop,look on the hat/coat rack left from the front door soon as you walk inside micks,should be another on the second floor and one in his secret gun stash room.but yeah im having the same glitch when they wont sell/trade anything....ive given up on this game and gone back to more reliable titles... fallout 1 heh..13yrs older and 100times more stable.

is it even possible to complete a playthrough of the storyline without entering the strip?

I didnt buy the hat cause i couldnt. I just stole it. This game is a mess. No matter what i do now its just freezing. If i try to fast travel out of vegas, it freezes. If i walk around vegas for a few seconds after it loads, it freezes. I put in another game, thinking my xbox might be on the edge, but the other game never froze. I have tried everything, for the few seconds i can walk around vegas, but it freezes. LAME

unfortunately on all 3 playthroughs i was unable to finish the game due to corrupted saves and the DLC errors

after the patch comes out i hopefully will be able to finally enter the strip!

So the patch won't come out today?..

Blake at crimson Caravan also sells old cowboy hats too. That is if you dont get the glitch where he gets stuck in the wall of the office building.

to the people that can't get back in the strip did you finish come fly with me and boulder city showdown before going to kill the guy with the cowboy hat? I'm trying to narrow it down cause i was able to get in and out the strip right after killing the guy for the debt collector mission and had no problems, now it freezes up in a blk screen every time i enter the strip. the only thing i did different that i can think of was that i didn't finish come fly with me and boulder city showdown, and I'm pretty sure that's the source of the problem. can some one verify please

i think you need to finish those two missions before you reach vegas...i could be wrong

I cant get back into the strip and I finished both quests. I even did both parts of the quest for come fly with me. I did the ghoul's part and the nightkin part.
As far as the Boulder city showdown I ended that peacefully by bribing the NCR.

sorry but i should of been more specific i think you have to finish those two quest before you reach vegas, did you do them before or after you got to vegas?

if you talk to people in the regular forums they like the glitches, they think they make the game more "challenging." I think bethesda got their 500 million in pre-order sales and told their fan base to go to h***. for a game that is glitched to high heaven and not at all what was promised. Oh and here is some DLC to buy svckers.

I'm just saying what everyone else is feeling and thinking.

Just be glad you are playing the game now (patch should come out Thursday) and not six weeks ago.

Yes I completed them both before I got to the strip.

Wow, I thought I had a bad time playing this game...and the problems I encountered were pretty much limited to repeated freezing and extreme game slowing. I feel for you guys that experienced errors that made the game completely play-less.

How can you complete the game without entering the strip? It seemed like any faction you could work for required you to either converse with or kill someone in the strip.
