Grumpy's Tomb Mod W.I.P

Post » Wed May 22, 2013 12:44 pm

As most of you may know grumpy, the modder who made mods with emma and other great modders. So it hit me today, and finally I figured what I want to do for my first mod. Which is to build grumpy a tomb for morrowind I think this is a great idea for my first mod ever, because I always used grumpy's mods, even before I joined this site. I know 8 years have past since Grumpy was here (Rip and god bless your soul) I am making this mod for emma/grumpy because these two worked together to create mods, and now it's finally time for me to start my first mod for the community, I strive to become better at modding and making these mod's are worth it.

Main Idea's

-Grumpy's urn

-Grumpy's Ancestral tomb

Grumpy's Spirit

Grumpy's Guards of his tomb

Grumpy's Avatar for a icon

Something for Emma

Questions for other Modders?

What would you use in a tomb?

How should the tomb be designed?

Where is a great place to put grumpy's tomb at?

How many cells should I add?

Just some questions/concerns!

I would like to tribute this to Grumpy and add something for Emma to remind her of all the hard work she put in and grumpy put in together. This is something I can't believe I never thought of and would like to hear people's ideas, like what I should add like armor, weapons, rings, etc you know stuff you'd want to see in grumpy's tomb. I strive to make this mod for grumpy, a person who put a lot of work into his mod, as well my most favorite house mod is asgard because I love the layout of the house. Emma and grumpy were people who put mod's out their for this community and I strive to do the same. I might be a new modder, but in my mind this is worth it!

R.I.P Grumpy March 18th, 1950- June 17th, 2005. I look forward to people answers about this! I'm sorry this is all in orange, but I just wanted this to stand out for a man who won't be forgotten in my book. Also anything will help so tell many many idea's and I will look for which one's I will use in this beautiful mod.

Rather than make a tomb, how about we build a Grumpy NPC, so we can interact with him? He can be like Maiq, only the things he "lies" about will pertain to mods, both well-known and obscure. He'll be immortalized in a video game, rather than memorialized. Not that there's anything wrong with the latter, I just think the former is better.

I was thinking of adding his npc to the game already, but I prefer a tomb more then a follower. Also I could work on a mod after this for a follower, when I get more into modding, still have a few thing's to learn but I get there!

I was actually thinking about making something like this for Grumpy when I was in the shower the other night. It's nice to see someone else had the same idea. Kudos to you sir!

As for your questions, here are some tips.

What's in the Tomb?

Well this would depend on the type of tomb you're making. If you're using the Dunmer set then you'll want some burial pits, urns, and free standing candles and whatnot. If you're just wanting a cave the leads into a coffin room, then some nice glowing mushrooms and waterways would be interesting. It's ultimately up to you though.

How should the Tomb be designed?

This is up to you! Ah, the joys of being a modder.

Where should it be?

You can put it anymore, technically. I would refrain from sticking it in the middle of a city though. A mountainous area is always good for tombs, but anywhere will do.

How many cells?

As many as you want. If you just want a simple tomb then one should be sufficient. If you want to make it more complex then any number can be used.

And, good luck!

Dear Ezio,

Your dedication is commendable. Grumpy did a lot for this community and together with Emma, they've made wonderful mods.

However, you should know that Emma asked the community not to do make mods like this. The thing is that you might make something beautiful and tasteful and someone else might take your work and do something bad with it. Newer players might not know who Grumpy was and say nasty things about your mod for Grumpy. Emma didn't want that. Nobody would.

So please, think of something else. Make a great mod, perhaps build on Grumpy's work and dedicate it to him in the readme for instance :)

Well I want to set up the tomb as ancestral tomb, and I want it to fit the morrowind feel. The cells I want to add 4-5 different cells an so fourth. I just need some good idea's, like what you want to see in the tomb? Yea i'm going to use many idea's like this but need something to fit for such a great modder.

I can't refuse this, lord devils tomb mod was never finished, so I want this for grumpy he deserves this in all ways, Emma may of said not to make a mod, but he deserves this in everyway possible! So I keep this idea till Emma says anything. All great modders deserve something giving back for their hard work!
