GTX 560 help!

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 8:59 am

Hello everyone, I have a simple question. I was looking to sell my GTX 260 to a friend for 70$ and using that money and some of my own, I saw that I had enough for a GTX 560. What I want to know is if my system is compatible with this card. Here are my general specs:

Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium
(current) nVidia GTX260
Intel core i5 661 @ 3.33ghz
Antec 800W PSU
ASUS P7P55-M motherboard
4GB of DDR3 RAM

Thanks in advance :)

Nope, should work just fine and you'll get a nice performance boost. If you can stretch to a GTX560 Ti then do so.

Depends where you shop but it's about £30 more and has more cores and clocked. You could probably get near a GTX570 if you overclocked it well.

Just to report. I have GTX 560 TI and its running real smooth :) I didn't overclock it yet to 1GHZ because i cba to get 3dmark 11 so i can test for anomalies when im OCing. But im pretty sure it will get the performance of gtx 570 when i OC it to 1ghz(hopefully it will be stable at that clock, many report that it can go easily to 1ghz)
