GTX 780 - Crysis 3 benchmarks compilation

Post » Sat May 25, 2013 6:08 am

GTX780 just released at an average price of $650 USD (in US). Some are disappointed by the price, others still deciding, many are buying anyway, but absolutely nobody can deny this card is a BEAST.

So, should you buy this card to play Crysis 3? Here are the compiled Crysis 3 benches from almost every major reviewer, in order of popularity:

Single GTX 780:

Meanwhile the SLI scaling with 2 x GTX780's turned out to be nothing short of spectacular...GTX 780 SLI:

No you're not, just sell some of your stuff that you don't really need. Car, house, relatives, etc.

The good thing about the 700 series is not the 700 series GPUs themselves... but the fact that it will cause the 600 series to decrease in price.

Is it GDDR5? Cause if it's not then by hardware PS4 is gonna be beating the PC for a short while.

Ah, you must be relatively new to tech hardware? Not to worry, I made it nice and simple to get an idea where PS4's raw hardware performance will sit in comparison to PC's. The teraflops equivalent (~1.84) puts the PS4's GPU power roughly as good as an AMD HD7850. The memory type (GDDR5) is almost irrelevant, it purely refers to the speed of the memory and it's actual impact on raw performance isn't all that huge.

Now do keep in mind that consoles have a special level of "optimisation" which makes it a lot easier to get better performance out of games since they're not doing all the background/OS stuff that PC's are usually doing. But even if that optimisation increased performance by say...a whopping 50%, it's still not going to hold a candle to the higher-end PC's.

Now that's enough talk about consoles around here, let the GTX780 discussion continue :)

What's the lowest end gpu that can play crysis 3? Give its gflops too

How odd the 6670 with twice the gflops is unplayable on Crysis 3 at low settings :O
