Guard uniforms and shields

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 5:48 pm

Has anyone collected every type of city guard uniform, including their respective shields?
I only have the Bruma one, since it′s my home town, and the Imperial Watch uniform.

I also have collected all the town shields.

I always try to get the shields because of how good they are early on.

One of my earlier characters, Severus Snape had one cuirass and shield from every city. It was part of his attempt to convince himself that he didn't care about lesser men. It didn't really work.

Yeah, I have the whole collection. Won't spoil, but there's a stage in the main quest that makes this easy.

One of my chars has a guard outfit from every city, he wears them depending on what region he is in when he is fighting crime.

Several of my characters collected the full set. Some of them have done it by killing and looting guards and other have use an Instant Bounty spell (I made that in the CS) to get them to kill each other.

Yup, I've got all of the cuirasses and about half the shields. Had to kill the guards though.

I did a long time ago, sneaking into the various barracks and stealing. A real pain to display but they looked nice (console so no decorating mods).

This is interesting. The responses I′ve received and the wiki mention killing guards or looting already dead ones. Did nobody ever think of doing what I did, sneaking down their quarters and just steal it?

Some people may not want to steal.... but kill instead. :P

The Kvatch uniform and armor has to be the easiest to get.

Heh, I like to get what I want without anyone noticing anything. That includes nothing shoved down on the floor and no bodies to raise the alarm :)

I did it this way. I only collected shields though, no uniforms. I like the Kvatch Shield the best. I put it on display.

It never made sense to me that I can wear a guard uniform without actually being one, so I've made them all unplayable in my game.

I once got them by personally punching every guard in every city to death and taking one set of armor from each of them  I had a 200k bounty by the time it was all over.

I can say never on purpose, sometimes when sneaking out I'll steal one or kill a jailor and don his.
I like the designs but have never been compeled to collect all cities in one playthrough.

Done it before. Pretty easy once you have high damage poisons. The act of getting the uniform only incurs a 40 gold bounty.

Playing on PC, I only ever collect the IC Palace Guard armor (mods) during a certain guild quest. I steal them (or try to) while the guards are asleep.

My kind of approach. Why resort to bloodshed when you can take what you want without anyone even noticing :)
