So yes, i have tried disabling all of my mods and just loading up the unofficial patch and oblivion, and i am still getting the problem where the journal is not recording assaults, it is recording murders either. I am not getting bounties either when i attack guards or whoever. When i attack a guard he does nothing, i wait to see if i will get a bounty but nothing happens. None of the mods effect player global values that i have. This must be a well known glitch what can i do to right it? It's not the mods that are effecting the game. It seems to be an odd problem perhaps with a simple fix available if anyone can think of the solution.

Not a glitch in the vanilla game. Does it happen with a new character?

I can't really test that out, because it takes quite along time to finish the turorial mode, before you can get out of the sewers and attack some guards. I've already deleted past large savegames, and i have started this savegame fairly new and i certainly don't intend to start again. But it is a serious issue, as it essentially destroyes the fun of the game, and quests that involve you to steal items or murder npcs.

Find an isolated guard on the road somewhere. Beat the crap out of him, see what happens.

Nothing he just tries to attack me back but no bounty, and i can yield and he accepts my surrender. No assaults recorded. This has happned before, but i don't know what i did to solve the problem, i'm not reinstalling oblivion bec ause i have way too many mesh and texture files to overright oblivion files. Perhaps i could try, but would i need to unsinstall the unofficial pathc first, and operation optimisation, and reinstall shivering isles?
