One thing I would really really really love to see in the guars is a "move aside" function. Other than that I'm loving this mod so far, great job as usual Abot :goodjob:

Is not "move aside" dialog option working? Also, you could try sneaking while near the guar, it is the shortcut for "take my place" command

Anyway, update time! enjoy & happy new year! :)

1.08
- fixed possible stuck guar combat sound, just mount/dismount/ask to follow/ask to stay
- fixed some dialog mounting code
- improved NPC facing when riding with player
- improved player/NPC feet handling when dismounting (now some kind of
boots/shoes will be autoequipped when dismounting if present)
- fixed a missing groin assignment
- guars speed lowered a little bit

Do you play a female? Maybe those are his romance options ;)

Kinda like finding a $5 bill in an old jacket pocket, eh?

Abot, question: do the mountable guars use Grumpy's follow script with the blinking forward to stay with you in case they get stuck? And will they stay outside or do you have to tell them to wait? Been awhile since I used this. My new character just has enough money now he may be buying one soon and I can't remember. Still a favorite mod of mine. :)

They should warp at about 3/4 distance if player is not looking at them and distance from player > 800
And will they stay outside or do you have to tell them to wait?
They stay outside by default, you can tell them to go inside if needed (I.E. a big mansion, Mournhold...)

This thread is a little old but it shall never die!! So, I shall resurrect it for a moment.

I had a weird little issue just this evening. In Gnisis, my Guar disappeared nowhere to be found! I got her in Gnisis, had her and rode her around the area to Ald'Velothi. I then returned to Gnisis, went into the temple and gave the Cure Disease potion to Mask of Vivec for Pilgrim's Path, came back out and my guar was nowhere to be found. Upon reloading I found her where I left her to make sure I had the right spot. Reloaded my latest save and she was not there. I'd buy another one, but she has lots of my belongings that she ran off with! Shame, shame.

Is this anything you've seen happen before, abot? I had never seen this happen while playing with the earlier versions.

Edit 01: Ugh, she disappeared again after going into Widow Vabdas house...I have no clue what could be happening. I'd get rid of whatever mod is causing this. .

Edit 02: Now, this is very strange. I went and disabled every single mod I have and she still disappeared....This is not sounding too hopeful for me and my lovely guar.

Edit 03: Weirder than either of the above posts, I have found some more info...and it is something I never would have expected...
I have a 2 second Fortify Personality spell that I use for bartering or speaking to npcs to help disposition. It seems that any time I cast that spell (self made, cast of self spell) and then enter another cell, my Guar disappears. Totally baffling but, sure as clockwork, my guar disappears any time I cast that spell. So far not using it, she hasn't disappeared. I don't know if guars are affected by any other spells, but perhaps it is something to be looked into. Can a spell go corrupt?
Again, all of this was tested without other mods and, when removing the mod, cleaning with Wrye Mash before going back in to test. I'll never understand this one. I'm going to try never to use that spell again...hopefully it's the only one affected.
What say you, abot? Is it not bizarre?

Edit 04: Well, she has disappeared once more without using that spell but, it was when I readied my spell (r on the keyboard). I heard a sound as though a spell had been cast, when I had not yet case one. The spell I readied was another Restoration spell, this time restore health. I did not cast it but heard the sound and I remember hearing the same sound when I cast the other Personality spell that made her disappear. It was a sound that wasn't connected to the spell I had cast and sounded as though someone had cast a spell down stairs. (in Ald'Ruhn this time) I didn't find this relevant at the time but it seems that that sound is a trigger that tells me my Guar is going to disappear. Sure enough, she was gone when I went outside. She had been there all along (I was constantly checking to make sure) until that sound played, then "Poof!" she disappeared again.
I just don't get this at all. I keep thinking perhaps I'll go back to an earlier version and see if that helps at all. I think I'll do that in a bit.

Edit 05: The latest thing that has happened to me is that I cast Balyna's Perfect Balm in Vivec Foreign Qtr and my guar teleported to me inside the lower waistworks. Next thing to try is to tell her not to teleport anymore.

Guess I'll continue to edit this post to update my progress until ab0t comes home.

Thanks for the report and sorry for the late answer, I've had time to investigate on this only today. I've found and fixed the problem, better not use the normal "teleport with me" option (using improved teleportation works ok, that's why I did not have the problem) until a fixed version is uploaded (tomorrow I hope).

[EDIT] OK, fixed version uploaded B)

Hooray! So, my obsessive testing finally paid off. My final verdict (correctly, it seems) was that turning off "Teleport with Me" fixed the issue. Hopefully my compulsive updates took away some of the hard work and searching that you might otherwise have had to do, because that was a super fast fix. :)

Thank you, ab0t.

Edit: Hey abot, one last thing. Have you ever thought of moving the right arm forward into the same position as the left one to make it look like a more natural position? Even the spell-ready position might be better. (Did I ask about this before?) I am thinking perhaps it isn't possible, though, given the fact that you need special pants for the legs... It would be so cool to see the one arm sit in the same position as the other to make it look a little less like the pc is stuck in the air in mid jump. I guess it isn't possible, thought. Perhaps a different jump animation may eventually change it if it uses the universal jumping animation.

Well, carry on then, abot! ;)

Yes, it surely helped, thanks.

Well, in fact the riding player IS stuck in the air mid jumping; maybe a different jump animation engineered to look good both when riding and normally jumping would be feasible, but I don't think this is an easy task.
