Guerrillas

Post » Mon Jul 18, 2011 1:34 pm

I recently had an idea concerning the civil war in Skyrim .There will be fights between the 2 factions obviously. So why not see the odd person hiding beside a road named (Guerrilla fighter).
They will wait until an imperial caravan, patrol, etc and attack them yelling "Death to the empire" and "Long live skyrim". They will be something like bandits but will not attack the player (unless dressed like a legionaries) or rebels.
Some will look like regular people others like regular soldiers.
they will have different names depending on their groups , such as.
the white mountain brigade guerrilla fighter or the fearsome heart guerrilla fighter .
The only speak able members would be leaders who offer you gold for the amount of legion insignias you bring him. Get enough and you get unique Armour or titles. and bonus relations with factions.
The regular fighters would say "shhhh I'm waiting for legions" or " have you seen any legionaries around?" and the odd " talk to the captain"
I think it will add immersion into the civil war.

One of the things that we don't see too much of in the Elder Scrolls universe is urban warfare... If it could be implemented correctly, I think it'd be neat to see some Guerrilla warfare within some of the more seedy establishments.

There should be two different types:

1] instances that just seem to randomly happen; a caravan of imperial goods/men get attacked as you happen to travel by them in which you can choose to react or not react, with no prior conversation with either faction

2] random/daily mini-quests in which you've either joined either the rebellion or the imperials and you choose it as a quest [much like a contracted mission]

Yes. It would be interesting that if you helped the legion you will be a target to them.

same, on topic
in any other game Guerrilla warfare would be better to use insted of Skyrim, most people being Melee fighters, why do you need to hide behind a tree when a man with a axe is chasing you down

Just don't call them Guerrillas. The terminology seems far too modern for a pre-gun powder age.
