I guess I'm getting Oblivion! help!?

I didn't know too much about games or my laptop. But I knew that I'd like to play something like Skyrim. I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan and wanted to immerse myself in a similar atmosphere. However, I did find out that my laptop can not play Skyrim....it can play Oblivion though!

I was wondering if ya'll could help me get started. I want to be an archer 99% of the time. I don't know much about mods but apparently they are needed?

Before you start modding, play the game a little, get some experience with the game and then decide what exactly you want to change, then start looking into mods.

Personally I don't believe that mods are needed, I'm still playing this game on my 360, and it's easily my favourite game.

Yeah, I've been with the vanilla game since 2008, I agree, there's no immediate need for mods (despite what 'they' say). Not that mods are bad, but you shouldn't rush them into the game, especially since you don't even know what sort of content it contains. Play OB for awhile, see what you like and what you don't like, and go from there.

I'll be modding pretty soon myself, but I still haven't even got ES: Anthology. I am toying with the idea of going all the way back to Arena once I get Anthology. I'll maybe start modding that game perhaps, and use to learn a few things; this way once I finally get to OB and Sky, I'll be pretty good at it, hopefully.
