Guess that Location!

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 5:29 am

Hello people of the Elder Scrolls forums. My name is Renee and I'm going to try to start a brand new thread called

Guess ... that .... location!

The way this thread works is simple. I will put a link somewhere below, and in this link shall be a picture. The object of the game is to guess where this picture is located. I will give some hints in case the location is particularly hard to find, and I would suggest that others say the same.

>>>> One of the only rules I think we should have for this thread is let's keep it vanilla. Only Bethesda locations + Bethesda's DLCs. Shivering Isles is okay, along with Cyrodiil (obviously) and the brief segue into Skyrim, too. <<<<

ReadY? Let's go! http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/Image0144.jpg. <-- Guess the location of this picture, and whoever is first to guess right can be the next one to post a picture.

And I realize a picture of a pumpkin is rather vague, so here are some hints to get us started...

1). This place has its own cook.

2). In the vanilla game (no unofficial patch installed) it's possible to pay for something once, and you'll never have to pay for it again.

3). Brrrr!!!! :cold:

Have to guess on Jerall View

Though I have doubts regarding the second hint...

Wow, good guess, mirocu! Argh, must have been the Cook hint. Snar the Cook. Yes, it is Jerall View Inn. Very nice.

I know you've got a screeny you can post. Let's see what ya got.

Thanks, Renee! :D

Like I said I was a little hesitant regarding the second hint, but the two other ones helped.

Awright, gonna go with a rather easy pic with no clues here

Hmmm....while I forget the name of the fort that is close by, which is inhabited by Necromancers, I think that might be the dock that is across the Niben from Culotte.

The second hint is true. If you pay for a room in the Jerall View Inn, vanilla game (and no UOP installed) you'll never have to pay for that room again. Its door will always be unlocked.

I will guess just across from Vilverin, standing outside the Tutorial dungeon's sewer exit?

Huh. How odd, was just thinking of something like this. I'll participate for a bit, I guess.

But, dang, I think Renee beat me to it.

If not, then it's the little dock a little ways from Vilverin where the bandits occasionally ignore you suddenly and attack the mudcrabs. There's a little jewelry box and everything inside an open crate.

And indeed it is! Lothran spent a night there in his tent last summer on his way to Bravil. Great observation :)

You′re up!

To be honest, I was thinking it might be the dock near Vilverin too. Only thing that made me think otherwise would be that the dock in the image looks bigger.

Anyway...

Hints...

1. A ring of red pumps close to our heart...

2. What to call us, but something that has risen, and later came to a fall, under several guises...

3. What lies within, but the screams of a matchbook, and the supposed fate of an honest man...

Good lord those are some pretty wicked awesome hints there!

Total guess here, I mean a total stab in the dark: Fort Empire?

Indeed. The first hint refers to the Red Ring Road(and the fort being in the Heartlands), the second refers to Tamriel's Empires, and the last to a song, alongside a quote from a movie, both refering to Monsters.

Your turn, Renee.

Holy **** I got it? :twirl: Wow, that was literally a guess. Well good. I shall go next.

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/Image0220_zpsf685b63e.jpg Which location is she nearest to?

.. As she stands there high above Cyrodiil, she thinks she needs some special candles. :whistling:

Gnoll Mountain/Frostcrag Spire?

Actually, I think Gnoll Mountain faces away from the IC, so Frostcrag Spire.

I'll take the cookies!

Alright, then, http://i.imgur.com/6NihRqe.png

Hints:

-One of the ten ancestors were hidden here

-There's a nasty surprise if you decide to take the ruin's treasure

-The French might mistake it for lady's undergarments. The Spanish for something worse.

Oooh I think I know where that is just by looking at it, but I'll let someone else have a turn. If somebody doesn't guess right in 12 hours or so, I'll go ahead and guess.

Oh, oh! I know that one. Baa had to learn how to jump off of water to get to the chest.

It’s an offshore extension of Culotte.

Yep!

just discovered that chest a few days ago even though I've visited the place several times before so I was like "Do that one!"

As a Spanish-speaker, the ruin's name makes me giggle.

Ok. Here’s an easy one. http://i.imgur.com/jH8rkfz.jpg

Hints:

It’s not too far from the previous place.

Some Shadowbanish Wine is in view.

You can find a Master trainer of Alteration nearby.

Close. That is Fort Grief in the distance, but the question was ‘what is the place that the screenshot was made from?’ Hint: it’s a cave entrance on the mainland.

Nope. Right neighborhood, but wrong side of the Niben. It's a cave directly across the Niben from Fort Aurus. What's the name of the cave?
