As many of you know, most people on the site tend to argue over the setting of the ESV to be either a combination of Elsweyr and Valenwood, or Summerset Isle. Both of these are extremely varied environments, and I would be pleased if any one of them got through as the setting. It's much better than being set in Skyrim, as many have suggested, where it is too big to include another province alongside it and will make you go crazy if you ever see the colour white again. Or Black Marsh, which should have an accompanying Province if it were in ESV, but has no valid-in-size ones nearby it. In this sense, if ESV stays in Tamriel, which it probably will, Elsweyr and Valenwood or Summerset Isle would be very tasty choices. Extremely tasty choices.
Anyway, today I was showing my brother, a novice to the Elder Scrolls series, a map of Tamriel. As I pointed him around the Provinces, I couldn't help comparing the scale of Valenwood and Elsweyr to Cyrodiil. Both were almost as big as the latter Province when put together, but there was a small space left over. Summerset Isle, by chance, is only a tiny bit larger than this leftover space combined.
My suggestion is:
For the next Elder Scrolls setting to be a combination of Elsweyr, Valenwood, and Summerset Isle.
Think of the varied monsters, geography, and dungeons! All the arguers would be pleased! Whilst only being a tiny bit larger than Oblivion, just like Morrowind was.
Don't forget the space of water between Summerset and Valenwood, too - All manner of new aquatic creatures could reside there. Thats right - We're all sick of Slaughterfish, we want the Dreughs and the Lamia back.
Even if I say so myself, I think it's quite a good idea. But what do all of you guys think?
EDIT: Whoops, I accidentally posted this in the wrong area. Guess thats a result of me always zooming off into the fanfiction area every day. Can somebody move this please?
