I'm wondering if the Yangtze will come into play. It's still sitting out there, waiting to depart. I don't know why they'd give us a bigass submarine if they weren't going to let us use it at least once.
Since Maine is south I'm guessing it will be an area south east of the map, possibly a new port area. Willing to bet that it takes place on Mount Desert also.
Ummm, no it's not. http://www.freeworldmaps.net/northamerica/united-states/us-political-map-big.jpg
Isn't Maine to the North of Boston?
Edit: ninja'd by BarrettsFloyd?
The poster that Bethesda released shows a Vault Dweller and Dogmeat on a boat together, so it's very likely you'll be sailing!
search for "Bar Harbour" on google maps, I'm betting the land will look this way too and the town names, etc....
maybe they'll be giant mutated lobsters!! seeing as its Maine I know Rad Scorpions aren't that much different, but ya know, I bet they'll taste good
There is an unmarked lighthouse at the very corner of the southeast part of the map. I think that would make for a good spot to catch a ride to sail north.
Everyone talking about sailing a boat or a submarine got me thinking, since Fallout 4 runs on the next generation of consoles and PC's and has a 64-bit .exe. Will sailing to Far Harbor on a boat be in real time or will it be for like five seconds then fade to a loading screen then appear at Far Harbor like the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim expansion pack Dragonborn, what are peoples thoughts on this?
There are several harbors in eastern Boston. A boat will most likely be there.
It will most definitely fade to black. Beth doesn't see to care much about using optical tricks to hide loading screens.
Even if we do control a boat, it will probably be only while we try to land on the island.
I would be very surprised if you sail on a boat in Far Harbor in real time to your destination and have no loading screen, but then again as you said it might just be a fade to black screen like in Dragonborn.
The only hidden loading screens I've seen/heard of are whenever you ride in an elevator. But I don't imagine the trip to Far Harbor being visual.
As long as it isn't Spectacle Island. That is MY island, and it is not open to the public!
If I had to guess , Far Harbor sounds a lot like Bar Harbor , Maine . Oh and BTW Bar Harbor is on an Island , a big Island . with just 1 bridge going out to it .. and it is Far to Bar Harbor . so is a Far Harbor
I would suspect , is a walk to get there and u got to fight along the way with it not being discovered yet . I would figure it isnt as far as it is in reality . but still a good distance and more places to explore and a objective to reach to save ppl from whoever is a threat . this would give more area to open up if desired at a later date.
Oh and the bridge is out and got to take the row boat out there. LOL
my guess would be the Cottage area - Highway - to begin the journey to far harbor . is only 1 way up there , and whats that they say on Diamond city radio .. " YOUR GONNA DIE "
Kingsport Lighthouse or thereabouts.
What are the odds on that? 5/1?
Real time boat sailing to Far Harbor would be nice to have some naval combat mechanics implemented for naval combat along the way until you get to Far harbor I guess?
What on earth do you think this is? Assassin's Creed IV : Black Flag or something?
OH WAIT! PIRATES DLC CONFIRMED!!
I thought pirates in a way or at least ghoul pirates existed in Fallout 4? At the Bethesda Softworks E3 2015 conference Todd Howard showed a picture of a ghoul pirate.
Do they not exist at all in Fallout 4?
