Guide to Saving?

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 8:28 pm

Hi

I was wondering if anyone had a definitive guide to how the save system works for this game on the console version, for at the moment I am feeling exceedingly dumb!!!

What I mean by this is, is that I see I seem to have two "slots" for saving and my main game is saving in slot 1 (I can see this by the number of the level increasing 1.1 1.2 1.3 etc as I finish each section) but what happens when I go online?

Does the host only save when playing online?

Do I have to save on another "slot" so I dont override my main single player game?

Do I use my own character when I join another persons game or can I import mine or am I using the hosts characters only?

I appologise for the noobish like questions but I would like to know what I am doing before I venture into an online game and destroy what small progress I have made so far!!

Thanks for any wise person out there :spotted owl:

Sorry you had to beat me to these questions. I would too, like to know. I will try to play around with the saves on and offline when my wife gets home if someone else hasn't tried answering these questions. We have yet to start the game. Been doing Crusible maps since day one. Good for getting Gold!

Yeah, I'm sure it will become clear pretty soon but at the moment from the ingame menus its not too obvious as to what is happening with saving.

Here is what the Instruction Booklet from the game case says.

Continue
Resume play from the last saved checkpoint. Autosaves accur when the Hunted logo apears in the bottom right corner of the screen. Note that only the most recent checkpoint is saved.

Adventure
Slots - Hunted provides the player with two save game slots. This allows the player to create a seperate set of heroes while preserving the previous se. Press (X) to toggle between the two saved game slots.

Single Player -
Start adventure will start a single player campaign.
To return to the campaign, choose Continue.
To begin a new campaign, choose Adventure and select a new save game slot.

Prima's Official Game Guide says nothing about saves, sorry.

OK I played around with the save a little bit. Here's the deal as far as I can tell.

Continue just auto loads what ever Save Slot you had last played solo.
Adventure has 2 Save Slots which you can change back and forth threw by pressing the (x) on 360 or ([ ]) on PS3.
Each save has the same "Subtitles";

Slot 1/2: Chapter.Level
Single Player
Xbox Live/PSN
System Link/LAN
Split Screen

Meaning if you choose Slot 1 you will have the same Loadout for Single Player, Live/PSN, System Link, and Split Screen. Same goes with Slot 2. You may be on 3.2 and have Unlocked an Additional Weapon Inventory Slot and Regen Vial and depending on where you Nagotiat your Multiplayer gaming you will have everything you Unlocked and any Pre-order stuff Applied, Weapon Charges and Battle Spell Charges. The only thing changing is what Chapter.Level you and the second player choose.
Same goes for Slot 2, Only thing that will change for you in Multyplayer is what Level you and the other player choose and if the Host Player has locked thier Character in or not. So Level, Character and Difficulty are all that can change for you. All depending on if you are the Host player or not. Hope that makes sence.
Oh another thing. It seems to help if you go in and Apply your Pre-Order Sets before loading an old same or Continueing weather your going it solo or conecting online or split screening it.
