Guild ideas

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:10 pm

i thought the guilds were great and lots of fun in TES 4 but I thought there were not enough so what kind of guild would you put in and tell me what they would do

Here's my idea,
Idk what it would be called but you would be in a group of hunters of some sort and you would go out on missions with your members and kill creatures such as dragons that have been bothering the towns or cities

That would be the Fighters Guild.

Also, the dragon in this world would eat those guys alive (they are near god, in a way, but I don't think they would go so low in bothering with lesser beings anyways).

Spoiler
The Mages Guild is no longer in existance. This was revealed in The TES novel: The Infernal City

We should think of guilds to replace that one ^

Hopefully there will be a fewer proper guilds and more less-organized factions.

So what do you guys think should be made to
Spoiler
replace the mages guild?

I can't personally think of anything except another MG.

We should think of guilds to replace that one ^

The two new guilds to replace them are also mentioned in the new book; The College of Whispers, and the Synod.

Fighters Guild needs to go back to its origin in DF to act as mercenaries when the local guards are stretched too thin or too lazy to eliminate the dungeon full of giants who are eating all the livestock and farmers.

Hell, I'll just say every guild needs to go back to its DF origin.

Right, i'm sorry, I forgot about the collage of whisperers and the Synod. Damn.

Do we know the main purpose of both?

We need an assassin guild who assassinate for the good of the people. (Killing tyrants, Soon-to-be liches, etc.)

And they need to be rockstars playing Led Zepplin songs on lutes while holding peace rallies on the peak of Skyrim!
:run: :intergalactic: :dmc:

...Well okay, just bring back a unified Morag Tong...

Maybe they should be required to grow long bushy beards in honer of ZZ Top?

Back to reality; Morag Tong is a great Idea.

They should also add a faction for each city. In which you would do jobs that damage other cities and their reputation or something like that.

Also bring back the guard faction. There should be a guard faction for each city as well as a Nordic legion faction.

That basically Daggerfall's Dark Brotherhood. They take hit for anyone (including nobles, other guilds, etc)

But the Dark Brotherhood is like a cult almost. They are not noble assassins like in Assassins Creed. I think this is what Voby is talking about.

I don't see those guys as a cult, pre-say. I see them more as cleaner, if anything. They basically kill people that annoys the client, not to mention kill any freelancing assassins in the process. No need to worship anyone, really.

If ya want "good", and replace "assassinate" with "remove", then go to ya nearest Knightly Orders or Fighters Guild.

Besides, tyrants usually get kill by the Dark Brotherhood for overdue fees anyways.

Well they are a group that worships a god that people outside of the group do not worship. They worship Sithis and the Night Mother.

Cult:
a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.

Yeah, the DF Dark Brotherhood took contracts from anyone, knightly orders, mages guild, nobles, and so on. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Quests#Dark_Brotherhood

Dark brotherhood kills ANYONE though. If Dagoth Ur contracted the Dark Brotherhood to kill Vivec, they'd do it. And the other way around. (Assuming they could kill gods, persay.)

I see them as a Guild aka: a formal association of people with similar interests. And how.

Oh, and they worship (unknowing) Lorkhan and Melphala, respectably.

Dark brotherhood kills ANYONE though. If Dagoth Ur contracted the Dark Brotherhood to kill Vivec, they'd do it. And the other way around. (Assuming they could kill gods, persay.)

I am pretty sure there are limitation as to who they can kill and who not to. Then the Mythic Dawn would just hire them to kill Picard.

Blow up the Fighter's Guild. After the last two TES games, they deserve to explode in flames more than the MG.

I play a combat character, and his actual reaction is "who are these mentally impaired sissies, and how are they still in business?"

Similar interests yes but they are still a small religious group that lives out of society and in an unconventional manner.

I am simply saying that a group of noble assassins like in Assassins Creed would be fun to play in with a good character.

Again, I present ya with Knightly Orders or Fighters Guild (or any similarity for that manner). They basically take jobs to kills things that annoy the general public. As for killing "bad people", define bad. Hell, tell me if there even a "Good Guy" or "Noble" in this world to begin with.

And before ya bring out Morag Tong, I would point out they exist like the existence of the Dark Brotherhood in Daggerfall, kill person A because B want A dead, not to mention they may also be the main reason the Houses didn't start a Civil Wars yet. Oh, and they worship Mephala but count as a Guild by the Empire.

Hmmm. I am saying more of a "kill evil politicians and mean famous people" than a "kill because Sithis demands blood and we demand gold" Assassins Guild.

Remember, these are guilds that have not been made yet that we are thinking about. Ones that we want to appear in TES V and onwards.

but count as a Guild by the Empire.

Only in Morrowind, as the Morag Tong did assassinate 2 emperors. And the only reason why they're legal in MW is because they took it to V-man himself to save their asses, but only on a few conditions. Otherwise, the Morag Tong are just like the Dark Brotherhood, except less about the money and more about the religion.

The guys we saw in OB were silly.

Also, the Dark Brotherhood makes it a big habit to make it so they're the monopoly of assassinations by going after freelancers, their employers, and anyone who would dare to take away the profits from them. Also, OB was the only game that made them into crazy cultists. DF had it so they were pretty much your run of the mill take any contract assassins. Also, many of the assassinations in OB from the DB were against bad guys, with a couple being generally innocent people.

guild idea's :D (some similiar to some already posted, or identical)

*Dres Raiders- A group of An'Xileel who try to free slaves of house Dres by raiding tear, or smuggling them to Stormhold stealthily .

*Nibeney Cartel- They smuggle drugs, like skooma and hist sap.

*Guild of Dark Arts- necromancy/ fierce destruction spells

*Nirn Airworks- a company like guild who seek extreme treasure hunters to find parts to build airships

*The Underworld- A gang-like guild who have exotic and illegal activities like fights to the death with orcs, cliff racer fights, hound fighting and naughty parties.

*Abecean Pirates- pirates who sail the sea for loot.

*The sacred Nine- A group of fanatic Nine divine worshippers who seek to heal every injured soul.

*The "TCI"( Tamrielic Crime Investigators)- detectives who solve extreme cases.

*Black Veins-A elite group of Assassins who behead their victims and send the severed head to local guards.( Can be the Morag Tong/Camonna Tong/ and Dark Brotherhood merged together)

Remember, these are guilds that have not been made yet that we are thinking about. Ones that we want to appear in TES V and onwards.

And again, define "Bad People". The Dark Brotherhood would have done those jobs as well. They don't need to demand blood, just as long ya can paid them off.

Only in Morrowind, as the Morag Tong did assassinate 2 emperors.

Well, that explains alot in their existence else where; was wondering how the Dark Brotherhood is making a monopoly out of killing people with the Morag Tong in the way. And ya, those guys in OB were silly.

-snippy-

Not to be an ass, but a few already fill those rolls
Nibeney Cartel is pretty much filled by the Thieve's Guild (Cammon Tong in MW). It was less explored in MW, due to the underground war between the TG and the Cammon Tong. OB was just bad, made them out to be Robin Hoods instead of an organization to self-regulate crime (so dangerous and crappy thieves and dealers aren't everywhere). Though I could see the Underworld being something who takes the TG's code and urinates on it.

As for the Black Veins, if they operate in MW, the Morag Tong WILL go after them. If outside MW, the Dark Brotherhood WILL go after them, as they HATE competition. Also, when Tamriel was in an even worse state (middle of the second era) the Dark Brotherhood became immensely wealthy. With the events that are unfolding, we should expect to see the DB fat with cash and power.

Don't worry your not being an ass, I did't read the others until I saw what you said. Wow. I guess skimming threw a few polls is't a good idea.
Whatever I fixed it so Im not acting like they were all my idea's. Don't want to be a copy cat :o
