'Guild" Management

I think that the organization of a guild/team in a Fallout universe will be crucial. I also think that some new ideas will be needed to push the genre forward and make Fallout Online unique.

Here are some suggestions from myself:

1) Make it possible for the guild to pay or collect money from the members. For example, there could be a a soldier/merc guild that needs to pool money to obtain special items etc. Or conversely, there could be a crafting/merchant outfit in which the business owner (IE: Guildmaster) needs to reward his members for collecting material or making sales.

2) Make open warfare between guilds possible. If two guilds are directly opposed to each other, either for territory, resources, faction allegiances, or just fun--they should be able to attack a member of the rival guild at any time. Obviously the leaders of the guilds need to consent to open warfare--but if they both consent--then their guilds can attack each other at any time without warning. So if a player chooses to join a combat-oriented guild, they should be mindful of who their enemies will be.

3) Likewise, make some form of diplomacy system between guilds possible, beyond just warfare. Providing safe-haven to allied guilds, discounts, military alliances, etc.

With such flexible options, you could see players develop their own organizations. We could see trading companies, merc groups, scavenger teams, or independent "Junk-town" like communities forming on their own.

Like your ideas, I've been into the same track ;)

Perhaps connect that to missions? Either take a direct tax or they can choose to take x% from a players mission reward, removing the need for a player to pay in /month or week, they just give some of their money from pve to the guild. I'd prefer that option since that if I do not play constantly I am not obligated to pay as much as someone who plays 4 times more than me, I just have to give them some of my money when I complete missions.

This can give a big income for the guild while it doesn't feel as a fall-back for me(I still pay but it doesn't feel as bad since I still get money from missions).

Really want this to exist, it is a mutually agreed war-declaration, if players are not up to the task for this, then they can join a guild who is not as hardcoe as that one, plus this doesn't inflict damage to by-standing people. Image

i like the idea and maybe if one a commercial guild was getting tired of competition they could buy out another, rival, commercial guild and the members would have to either join or leave

That would be a practical and unobtrusive way for a guild to make some form of communal income.

Maybe this income could even be used for the guild to make it's own missions for other players. Lets say this guild is having a hard time finding the magnetic-doohickey needed to build a top-notch plasma rifle. So they post this as an open mission/bounty.

Any non-guild player can browse this guild's postings and see the bounty. Then if they bring the item to the guild/vendor/computer/robot/whatever--they will be paid the bounty from the guild's funds.

Man that would be awesome.

What if you could make different types of guilds?

There could be "Alliance Guilds" in which the founder just admits people of a certain faction, need, or friends. They would be simple straight forward guilds we all know.

But what about "Business Guilds". What if there were ways that the business-minded people could deal in equity ownership. Say two people found a business guild and both invest 50/50 money. And partnerships can change--be bought out, new investors can come in.

It sounds complex from a gaming standpoint--but it's really not. It's just simple math that the game can easily keep track of for the player.

I for one would find that REALLY fun.

Some developers might be concerned about how much people wanted to do such things in a game---but I think they would be surprised. I for one would be on that like white on rice. If the need is there, PEOPLE WILL FILL THOSE ROLES. And if there is only a small number of business players compared to the adventure/PvP gamers, then that's A GOOD THING.

More demand for the business players to fill. :D

how about that a guild can pay other guilds for assist for example in combat?
so it more than that a guild can propose mission to players (as impavido said)

i think that could be intresting, then we could have "guilds" that specialize in their kind of "business"
mercenaries, caravaners, producers etc. :) King of Swamp Castle: Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who.
