Guild Quests

Post » Fri Nov 05, 2010 1:26 am

The quest lines in Oblivion for all the guilds was like only 4 hours or so, im hoping that the quests in the Skyrim guilds will be much much longer. The Dark Brotherhood is my personal favorite, and it ha been comfirmd that they will be making another appearance in this game. The mages guild was my least favorite, but somewhere I heard that the mages guild was gone, and was being split up into seperate magic guilds (like destruction and stuff.) I don't know if it is all one guild but in seperate places or if all magic guilds are different. I don't even know if it is true, I heard it somewhere, when I find the link I will show you, if you guys have the link I would appreciate you posting it. The fighters guild was the shortest in my opinion, it was never hard. Go in someplace, kill everything you see. It was easy. The thieves guild if a big fat IF. I kinda like the quest line, but not the quest length. Im kinda hoping that the guild quests be the second longest quest line in the game, the MQ being the first. What are your thoughts?

I just hope they are less predictable. The mages guild quest is the perfect example: you have one not-so-mysterious enemy the whole time. You basically watch a guild of professional scholars run around like a pack of bewildered rats, then all you have to do is fight the guy anyway. It's classic dull.

I would rather more Thieves Guilds and Dark Brotherhoods where personal stories, unpredictable endings, and plot switches are common. I don't want to be able to see what's coming so easily from the very beginning.

Also, the rewards. Guild rewards have been sooo terrible for such a long time. Thieves guild was the best guild reward they've ever done. The rest were crap. I used to just make a house rule that Frostcrag Spire and Battlehorn were actually the quest rewards for the Mage/Fighter guilds. I wouldn't use those homes unless I finished the guild line.

So... please, I would really love some Guildmaster benefits that mean something.

^ This.

Make them longer por favor, and much less predictable. Like OP said, the DB was my absolute favorite quest line, but was still predictable. The only way I could make it harder was the first time through. I didn't think (in my own arrogance) to ask my Brothers & Sisters how to get through each contract so it was much more difficult having to figure it out the first time myself. But that also made it much more fun. lol

And maybe a side-quest line where it overlaps into another Guild? Maybe have it where the DB and the Morag Tong are at odds, but you have the choice of joining either one, maybe switch sides in the middle double-agent style.

And please, please, please make it worth my time to actually be the Guildmaster. Give me something good.

I agree with what's been posted above.

I would also like to see guilds that more interesting.

Fighters Guild, Mages Guild and Thieves Guild - They all sound generic.

It looked like a standard black horse from Cheydinhal, except with red eyes.

And did you notice the blood all over the saddle and skull on the bridle, thats probably the best horse custamization in the game unless you count the mod for horse armour.

thought the guilds from Oblivion were all good but the best was the Dark Brotherhood, it had the best story line and the cool twist was great.

I would hope for the Dark Brotherhood to reappear in Skyrim.

I want the Mages guild to appear again but also for a Necromancy guild (which would be directly opposed to the Mages guild)

I would like the Imperial Legion (or Skyrim Equivelent)

I would like a treasure Hunting guild where you follow vague clues and riddles to find long lost treasure (only discoverable through succesfully completing the clues)... this could also lead to really cool twists as informtion about past and present conspiracys are revealed

I would like the Theives guild to reappear but to be more ruthless (the robin hood thing was ok to a degree but a bit more aggresion wouldn't go amiss).

Vampire and Werewolf tribes would be good providing they are even included in Skyrim

I would like all guild quest lines to at least as long as in oblivion preferably longer but more importantly have mulitple endings.

That all I can think of now!
