Gun attachment ideas for New Vegas

any body mention a muzzle mounted grenade for hunting rifles? like for the m1 garand in metal of honor? kind of a one use thing?

I want to put a steel plate on the butt of my shotgun to melee with, not to do any real damage but to knock back meleeing monsters such as gouls so my damn barrel doesn't go through them an shoot nothing.

I'd like for Left Trigger to spool up the minigun so that you don't have to wait 5 seconds to fire a burst. I mean, like anyone zooms with that gun.

Very odd. He doesn't have any contact stuff listed either. Meh, regardless.

On topic: Aside from the hand made ones I mentioned, like taped mags, I suppose that regardless of what they are, I love that they actually change how the gun looks, rather than just changing a stat.

Car batteries are incredibly heavy! :o Attach a fission battery instead, they look really light.


I was actually thinking you could put it on your shoulder... but fission batteries work too (probably would need around 3-5 of them though) also they really arent that light... they weigh 10 pounds in the game apprently >_>

I do O-o and I think I remember one of the devs saying they have a mod for the minigun to reduce spooling time it takes to fire...

Plasma Cell C4. after adding several Microfusion cells ot the c4 and some extra scrap metal, after the C4 explodes the microfusion cells fly out on the heavy duty wires, they trigger after traveling a certain distance and explode, the raw energy from these cells is equal to a mini nuke.

Carpet bomber laser beacon. after several computing modifications to the beacon, it programs the orbital laser to fire several smaller shots in a direct line, the laser will still do great damage, but it will require 72 hours to recharge now.

OK,this will be good...

-Improved Dynamite Filling= Of course,this will make the dynamite pack more punch,and also increase it's explosion range.
-Napalm Tanks= This will make the flamer not a flamer,but a NAPALM FLAMER!
-Napalm Filling= This will make the incendiary grenade to spew black fire when it exploded (a.k.a Napalm)
-Corrosive Coating= This will make melee weapons (with blades/spikes/other sharp point/edge) to deal additional DoT damage, and maybe...... reducing enemy's armor condition (to be precisely,corrosion)
-Nail Jar= Nail jars will be attached to the C4,so,when it explode,it also makes the nails fly everywhere,dealing extra damage.

But,there's also a few cons about the upgrade=
-Improved Dynamite Filling= Bigger and stronger explosions mean that this weapon will be more prone to cause friendly fire.
-Napalms= Without protective measure,the flame will deal damage to not only the target, but also the USER. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napalm
-Corrosive Coating= The corrosive nature of the coating will also corrode your weapon.
-Nail Jar= Flying Nails can't distinct who's the ally and who's the enemy.

well, car batteries are 12 volts, and according to my calibrated arm weigh in at about 20-25 pounds... now a fission battery... it can power a frickin robot... car batteries just power the starter, to turn the engine over and start it, after that the engine powers the car. (I go to an automotive tech school :D )

Edit: Sorry forgot what the topic was, I really just want to see more mods for the battle rifle in the game, the ar platform is very tactical. My friend has an AR-15 tricked out with a red dot sight, foregrip, and complete pitcatinny rails on the front. I am failing at gun vocabulary right now, I don't know why :(

ive always thought punch guns were freakin amazing, but i wonder how much kickback itd have for your hand? (4 or less str you break your arm when you fire it)

Id like to see a chainsaw attachment. Similar to Gears of War. (Although Gears of War wasn't the greatest game off all time, the gun design was sweet)

Maybe not a chainsaw, but I would like a bayonet, just for when I'm out of ammo, and can't switch.

Also if there's a Tommy gun, I want a barrel clip.

More ideas=
-Plasma Heater= Add extra damage to plasma weaponry due to heated plasma :)
-Speed Cycler= Increase Minigun firing speed :gun:
-Plasma Concentrator= Reduce spread in the Multiplas rifle,increasing accuracy. (if it has spread :mellow: )
-Scope + Stock (for SMGs)= Reduce recoil,and allows zoom.
-Grenade Belt Box= Increase ammunition capacity of the Grenade Machine Gun
-Power Catapult= Reduces the Fat Man's arc,thus increasing it's range. :nuke:
-Iron Plating (Already present in Fallout 2)= Although technically it's cheating,but this mod will obviously increase the Boxing Glove's damage (It's hidden under the layer of the glove) :slap:

Cons=
-Plasma Heater= Heated plasma could make the range shorter.
-Speed Cycler= The already ammo-greedy Minigun will be more ammo-greedy :facepalm:
-Plasma Concentrator= This will reduce the Multiplas rifle's spread,thus making it less effective for attacking clustered enemies than the non upgraded version.
-Scope+Stock= Increase SMG's weight
-Grenade Belt Box= Ughhhhh :( ...... It became heavier...
-Power Catapult= Reduced arc means it will became less effective against entrenched target (Although the mini nuke's explosion is capable of killing entrenched enemies easily :dead: :nuke:
-Iron Plating= Hey! You're cheating! That's not good! :slap:

I know it would be hard to have in work

maybe add a melee button for upclose and personal

but not to much damage still want a reason for Melee Weapons


make a (game) mod(ifaction) that replaces Fore! with ATTACK!!!!!!!!!

a mod on the wepons that use microfusion cells so that they recharge slowly (but only to your max clip not your actual ammo stash) aswell as guns that use the gatling lasers ammo (i forgot its name).

Unarmed Attachments

Power Fist:
Hydrolic. Gunnery. Arm. Mechanism.: This is a more beefed up hydrolic system that was produced near the end of the war to be easily attached to a normal Power Fist to save time in the field rather then recalling the units. Unfortunately very few ever made it to their destination, but if you are the proud owner of this modification it will give you the ability to hit an opponent 150% harder than normal.
Rail. Masters. Knuckles.: The standard issue Power Fist is upgraded to fit a small pressure compartment on top of the wrist that builds up pressure from the Power Fists onboard hydrolic system to fire a railspike apon impact with an enemy target. The unit does standard damage as well as +10 damage from the spike.
Shocktroopers. Pain. Gauntlet.: Using a few fission batteries and wires that connect to the knuckles of the Power Fist this modification electricutes enemies for 2/5seconds and stuns them for 1 second.


if you look really closly there is a hydrolic system. also if you listen you can hear the hydrolics.
