Gun Mod?

Post » Sun Mar 07, 2010 2:24 am

So I'm looking to add Guns to Morrowind. But, I don't want to add anything like a machine gun or anything. Just some balanced guns to use for a little more interesting game play. So does anyone know any good mods with guns.

Unfortunately, I don't think there are any sixy flintlocks available :(

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=924 has a couple of rifles in it. Never used them myself since they're not to my taste but if they're up to the quality of the rest of the mod they should be good.

They're Dwemer bolt rifles. They don't look too sixy :(

Assasin's Armoury has the Dwemer bolt rifles mentioned. They're prettey awesome. Snakebitten's Lair has the best guns you'll find. He has some beautiful flintlock's in there as well as a double-barrelled flintlock:

Any of these able to be used as resources? I'd like me a nice flintlock pistol for my mod.

A little too modern. Like, completely modern. In a fantasy game. Does not fit at all.

10000+ downloads seems to contradict that statement. (Unless Phijama's been padding his dl count :ninja: )

Well, that was just my opinion. I'll never put guns in my Elder Scrolls games. I like a bit of realism in my fantasy :-P

I have to agree with that. Dwemer firearms are really the only ones that make any sense. There are a few muskets out there and the dwemer spore pod launcher, but other than that nothing seems to fit within the context of the game. Phijama's firearms are easily the most beautiful, but a modern hunting rifle with what appears to be a generic Bushnell scope belongs in my rifle cabinet, not Morrowind.

... of course, that doesn't keep me from putting it in there sometimes anyhow. Nothing like sniping some mudcrabs!

Eh, I can't complain about Gun Mods. But that's just me.

Also, those crazy Dwarves probably knew the Alien Blaster wielding aliens from Fallout 3. :)
No, wait, that's why they disappeared, they entered the Fallout 3 universe and finished their technological leaps! :)

What? It's possible.
Jokes aside, the Dwarves probably would make Flintlocks, or at the very least mid 1700 style weapons before they disappeared.
I mean, they did make great technological leaps, the ruins have ballistas and in one case a helicopter. :)
No, really, in Morrowind, it's obvious the Dwarves had helicopters. :) Not A-10 Tank killers, or a Huey, etc, but yeah, that had tech.

Wait what? Are you talking about the giant-fans in Bamz-Amschend?

A matchlock! A bloody matchlock! Still, I'm not sure you'd want to use one without a stock, but that's cooler than a flintlock any day.

Where in the world is Bamz-Amschend? I'm talking about the Dwemer ruin that obviously has a helicopter prototype, think Leonardo's design. :)
I can't find it at the moment, but it really shouldn't be too hard to locate. I'm not going to COC to every single ruin though, to find it. But I know there's one with a helicopter. Just like there's one with a ballista outside.
I assure you, it's there.

Nchuleft is the one with the ballista. Wait, no, like 5 different ruins have Ballistas.
I assure you though, there is a Dwemer ruin with a helicopter outside it.
I can't seem to find it at the moment. Maybe I'll run through them all again, but it's right outside the place, and I want to say it's not any of the ones near red mountain.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd that's why it's optional.
Dwemer guns are just as realistic as modern ones. Neither one was in the game. I think Phijama's hunting rifle set is the sharpest looking one out there. If anyone likes realism on realistic looking models, there you go.

There's no Dwemer train or helicopter in the original game. A train which could be assumed to be of Dwemer origin is however mentioned in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:2920,_Rain%27s_Hand_(v4). Unless I'm minsinterpreting it, since I'm tired. :P You must have seen something from a mod, or perhaps your subconscious may have been manipulated into having a memory of something which does not exist, as memories such as that which never happened are actually quite common.
Spoiler
“I'll be with you in a moment, and give Almalexia the time to shake the road dust from her train,” Sotha Sil turned back to the students, his voice flat.

Back to the topic at hand, I'd personally recommend the aforementioned http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=4838 one. It has the sound of guns when shot and ammo which may be crafted. It uses crossbow animations. Best used to kill Fargoth before he bothers you about his ring. To the person asking whether it's a resource or not, the description seems to imply that it is indeed a resource as well as a playable modification.

Trains don't tavel on roads. Its a metaphor. It probably refers to her carriage train or maybe , cheekily, her rear.
