Gun Runner's Arsenal: A MUST

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 11:51 am

There simply isn't a large enough selection of weapons in Fallout 4. Sure, mods make the same weapon feel new and different, but come on, that's not the same thing.

Some Weapons I'd love to see make it into the game:

1) Sniper rifle variations and DMR/Marksman Rifles
2) M21/M14/Mini 14 style rifles/battle rifles (could be modifications of each other, including the Mk14 Mod 0 variation)
3) More SMGs (Bringing back the REAL 10mm SMG would be great, perhaps with the option to be modded into an AR? Speaking of which...)

4) Assault Rifles (AK/M16/MP44 styles)
5) LMGs (The Lewis/Maxim style LMG is cool, but some BAR/M60/Type 99 styles would be Fantastic)
6) Shotguns (A Pump Action shotgun is a must, and more variants overall would be Great, thanks)
7) Lever Action Rifles (I'm partial to my Brush Guns)
8) Grenade Launchers (Really, there's no reason they shouldn't be in the game)
9) More Pistols and Revolvers ( also, true Revolver Rifles [not the pipe guns] would be SWEET)
10) And a greater variety of energy, melee, and unarmed weapons.

A massive Gun Runner's Arsenal style DLC is almost an absolute must at this point, and would greatly add to the game's replayability and longevity. Hell, new armor, outfits, and cosmetic accessories would be great too.

Feel free to add any thoughts on weapons, armor, outfit, or anything else that you think is missing and would love to see make it into the game in a DLC.

Let's make sure Bethesda sees this and acts on it!

I want a .45 pistol to go with the silver shroud costume.

For those who do not get it, the silver shroud is based on a radio show hero from the 30's-50's named the Shadow, who wears a very similar outfit, but uses a .45 pistol instead of a submachine gun, cause, you know, being sneaky and all of that. also, a little funfact is The Shadow is also the basis of Batman, and other similar, dark knight, "scary" heroes with limited to no powers (The shadow has limited mind-reading and mind-clouding abilities, but that is as far as it goes) .

Pretty sure weapon mods will be the first to massively appear on nexus as soon as they release tools for modding.

No need to worry about that.

I loved the katana in GRA, with its bonus critical hit and crippling chances.

As I play NV right now, this is my favourite weapon that is sorely lacking in FO4 (so far).

Obviosusly, the more variety the better. I'd also like alternate ammo to make a return.

The Deliverer is amazing - it's the best silenced pistol in the game, as far as I can tell, and the only downside is not having a long-range sighting option or recon tagging.

I just want more alien weapons, though. And not the gimped "power modules, not power cells" mechanic of Mothership Zeta - one alien power source, more alien guns to use them, more mods for the alien blaster to bring it back to even a more respectable fraction of its former glory. Doesn't have to be the oneshotting superweapon it used to be, but it got hit hard by the nerf bat due to the game's reliance on weapon mods for scaling.

Dont see why people always want modern weapons to be brought into the game.

I am all for new weapons but if they dont fit the post-apocolyptic-retro-futuristic part of the game than they have no place in the vanilla game.

Meh I prefer if they focus on the kind of dlc they usually do, new stories and new locations and then incorporate new gear in it.

Exactly right. Fallout is set in a parallel universe where design aesthetics never changed after the 1950s. It's not our future any more than Skyrim is our past. So nothing from our current world would exist in the Fallout world.

I would just like some more bolt action rifles added.. theres only the hunting rifle and the pipe bolt action.. i prefer single shot powerful rifles for use with vats (but without being a sniper rifle because the scope makes it hard to use charisma pacifying options)

Not needed at all. Quantity will never be better than quality. All quantity does, as we saw in FONV, is clutter up the game and menus with needless junk.

Meh. I'd rather they spend their DLC budget on story & content -style DLC (which would, presumably, add in a few more guns), instead of just a generic "lots o' gear" pack.

As it is, I've barely used most of the gun types (with a couple examples of each of the others stashed in a locker just in case), so I have plenty of gun variety left to sample. I can only rationally carry & use ~4-5 guns in my loadout at one time. So many I haven't used yet. Let alone the modded variants of them.

I find myself using laser and plasma weapons due to a lack of appealing guns, so I have to agree with this.

It's lacking in variety, especially after coming from NV which was just bristling with choice. It may have not allowed you to tailor guns exactly to your style, but it sure did provide enough guns that fit your style.

As long as they include the .223/5.56 pistol, i'm in.

You do know that in this case, the quantity is the quality, right?

The amount in FNV never felt like clutter. I used virtually every weapon I could, and in fact my first character was a jack-of-all-trades gun arsenal of both energy and firearms. Good times.

I would love a GRA for Fallout 4. I would hope they would add a lever action shotgun, like the Model 1887. Also, I think it would be cool to be able to put paint on your gun. Kind of like Joshua Graham's 9MM pistol in F:NV. Maybe not craftable, but at least a few unique weapons with alternate skins and stats.

I'd just like to point out that GRA introduced weapons that were pricey and only available from a few vendors. You would never see any NPC using these weapons. So although the weapons were the most popular, it didn't really add anything to the game experience. On top of that, most of the GRA weapons were not modifiable.

I want to see lots of new weapons too, and even more weapon mods so that you may never get a chance to see them all. However GRA is not exactly a good model for what i want to see.

What kind of model would you like to see that you would think that would be better? I agree with you on all of those points, I just can't think of what you have in mind.
