You can play almost 50000 FPS. Even I, an RPG player owns some of them, great games yes.

Some more posts have been removed despite an earlier http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1197056-guns-in-skyrim/page__view__findpost__p__17795796. Those members will be dealt with so unless you want to join them I suggest you only post discussing the presence, or lack of, of guns in Skyrim.

I don't see them fitting in as it is too near to modern technology, although the Dwemer did have some pretty smart devices, it may be that we haven't yet seen the full scope of their abilities.

No guns never please never. I play elder scrolls to get away from guns

Edit: I would only hope for crossbows though I hear they are never to be seen again :[

Just gonna reinforce. Nirn has been built up as a world in itself that has its own history that, like ours, has each thing following from the last. Guns were invented in the real world because of a combination of resources and necessity for newer weapons technology. On Nirn, the advancements would be in magic. So instead of inventing cannons to bust down city walls, then better cannons, muskets, rifles, etc., a person would develop more powerful spells. So that is what people mean when they say "wouldn't fit in to TES's world," it means there would be no reasonable explanation as to why people would invent guns.

And look, despite the bashing it gets here and there, if you want a work of high fantasy that has old-timey firearms, I actually do like Fable III, so it really is worth a try if that's what you're into.

Why why why would you want guns in TES? because no one is giving a good reason beyond, I want guns. Even guns represented on the level of RDR is taking it waaay to far, and why would one pick a Musket that takes longer to reload than a Crossbow and has LESS accuracy? not to mention if your being charged by several Marauders with a Spell caster, your rifle/pistol will run out of ammo or break and you will be trounced by 5 men with swords and the magick user in the back.

If you want guns in a "medieval" setting by all means go buy M&B get some mods and bewm there you have it in a realm ruled by Magick Guns have no wide descernable use and are utterly unreliable if one isnt going to take them overboard.

Yup,
people are clearly underreacting.

Please review my previous post should you care to read a take on the otherwise flimsy case for guns in Skyrim, a case I care about only from the purely theoretical and anti-sectarian standpoint.
Cause otherwise,
I just don't give a rat's.

I think I vaguely remember the Yokudan navy having some form of cannon that allowed them to dominate other nations in sea warfare.

It, as someone else mentioned, had to do with their distrust of various arcane arts.

Do not want! :stare:. I like the fact that TES sticks to classic sword battles instead of adding musketeers with hand cannons. I like they fact the keep bows and arrows instead of bullets and cannon balls. I like the fact Bethesda would rather have explosive magic than explosive firearms.

To the OP, it seems you've never played any kind of elder scrolls before?
Crossbows are okey.
But rifles? Hell no.

Are there gonna be any way that there might be added guns in Skyrim? Not a gun like a M16 Carbine, but those wooden rifles from the old days?
I've heard about that you can dual wield weapons in Skyrim, so it could be cool if you could have a rifle, then a sword in the other hand. Then you can try fiddling around with bows or guns, and see which fits you most?

I would say its technically possible for guns to exist in Nirn, Cyrodil in Oblivion felt more advanced to me than Europe was when bombards were first used, however I don't think they would have caught on. Army A deploys a regiment of Matchlock bearing Musketeers, Army B counters with a Mage and a large area of effect, low damage over time fire spell. In Skyrim would you seriously consider carrying a black powder weapon into battle against a fire breathing dragon?

No.
This on the equivalent of asking if there will be wizards in a game like Battlefield or Call of Duty.

Why would they need to invent guns when people can shoot fireballs out of their hands?

@agnon: No, it's more like asking for a crossbow. Guns exist and have been around since centuries ago. Those guns that he is referring to are highly inferior to magic in the same way that a crossbow would be to a modern gun.

1. wooden gun= musket
2. "I've heard about that you can...." get rid of about
3. crossbows before guns. just hoes before bros

Honestly, I wouldn't mind them if they were rare and realistically done. For instance, a few single-shot muskets that actually required powder and a musket ball to fire, I would be fine with. As long as they weren't completely overpowered, and as long as the resources needed to fire them are so rare it almost defeats the purpose.

But having every [censored] bandit brandishing around an overpowered somehow semi-auto flintlock pistol, yeah, that would annoy me greatly.

NO NO NO Guns! God, leave skyrim alone please! go play WoW or Guild Wars 2 or Fable or something. I love Guild Wars 2 and everything arenanet is doing on it. it's like my number two most anticipated game right now, but i that's another world. The Elder Scrolls is my number one fantasy world, and honestly, it would break my heart if they had guns...

I don't know why anyone one would think guns would be a gameplay addition, consider this:

Muskets(and all other primitive rifling) were possibly the stupidest invention in human history. They jammed alot, if the powder got wet they wouldn't fire, they were not very durable. They were not very effective(poor accuracy, wouldn't do much good against someone in armour), Which is why some idiot generals decided to take away the armour and line everybody to take turns shooting at each other.
Last, I'd like to point that it took a trained soldier an entire MINUTE to reload.

Now, consider these points, how is this going to implemented gameplay wise?(I know its NOT, but think for a second).

I'll just copy and paste one of my posts in a similar thread.

I don't want to see technology advance.
I like TES just the way it is, classic fantasy. If I want a setting with more technology I'll play another game.
I suggest you do the same, play another game instead of trying to ruin TES for other people.
