Guns.

Guns were cool in fallout 3, but in the medieval world of Skyrim I think they'd be a tiny bit out of place, lol. Instead of guns, they should include a greater variety of spells and combat based weapons, such as catapults!

Since it has been a huge topic on another forum I've recently visited, I'm really curious what you think about this. What is your opinion on including guns. Well, I don't know if someone has already started this subject but I'm really curious.

I don't want guns. I mean, a lot of people already think that Oblivion is Fallout without guns, and let's face it, it is a medieval theme RPG. Guns won't fit the theme and I think it will be ruined. Of course Skyrim will be some years ahead and there might be a few technological changes, but I don't want any guns.
One just needs to look at every gun poll ever made; it's a large and loud "NO."

People were more concerned about the possibility the blades were moving backwards. I don't think as many people are obsessed about now new tech as people think. It's just the idea of the industrial revolution hitting Tamriel is opposed. People like the setting, and don't want it to change that drastically. Technology that existed before the I.R. is fine.

You serious? Does a game with a release date in November need confirmation that it's not finished?

No. No it doesn't. If it were finished, they would probably release it. November is a very competitive month for video games.

I was talking about the windmill blades oh witty one. No [nummit] it's not done. I assumed you were contributing to the conversation instead of making a pointless statement. My bad.

I informed you a dev posted in one of the windmill threads saying the game isn't finished. You said you weren't aware of that. So........you still think I didn't contribute anything?

Your above post told me absolutely nothing except you knew the game wasn't finished. You did not mention that a dev had posted in one of the windmill threads. And when I asked for a source, you went off in a different direction, assuming I was asking for confirmation for the game not being finished. Yes. It didn't contribute anything.

I found the Fallout 3 is Oblivion with guns argument a little idioti/lacking goood solid points rather than personal opinion. Other than the same modified Gamebryo engine/graphics(Actually it seems Oblivion performs more admirably on environments. Maybe the gritt of Fallout is more taxing than some lush woodland forests) and "dungeons" usually not linked to any quests and rather the player exploring at their wim I couldn't disagree more. In that argument every game is another game.

As far as guns go technically their possible. Primitive firearms are definitely possible in the world. Of coarse even in the real world the invention has been ditched aside back to more traditional hand weaponry(Japan being an example, though they switched back to firearms again after American and British intrusion, only with more effective guns.)

So probably not. Gunplay wouldn't be a good mix. Takes away from Bethesda focusing on bows playing and feeling good.

When I said "Game isn't finished. Confirmed.", I was referring to what the dev said. Sorry for the confusion.

We all ready have guns. They're called staffs. Deal with it.

I just hope there's one staff maker out there figures out holding the barrel of a staff at eye level is more accurate at long ranges than just firing from the hip.

Guns have no purpose in Tamriel. Why shoot with a gun when you can blast them away with a shot of lightning?

I am excited that we have one handed staves. I'm going to use Drain Health in one and Soul Trap in the other. All I need is a large collection of Soul Gems and I'm dual wielding TES guns with unlimited ammo lol.

I did too. Wow that is kind of sad.

Edit: @bigmac2134: No, Peter Molyneux ruined Fable. But then again he gave the ok on guns so you are still technically correct. He also made armor useless, ruined the story, made magic simplistic and stupid, and broke everything else.

Rather than some whiney kid shouting nonono no guns without any sort of good opinion *points to my post on the previous page and a lot of other topic with this same topic*

It's all a matter of opinion in the end. Of coarse apparently not many people wants guns, and in my opinion it'd take away from the other vast array of options from spells to bow and arrows, so it probably won't happen. Not even a primitive firearm. Atleast in your hands.

Of coarse to the ones crying fantasy. Apparently they(Most of them Morrowind fans who've never played Arena nor Daggerfall) didn't like the sub-par but still pretty good standard fantasy romp that Oblivion was.

End of the day the forums represent barely a percent of the total crowd. Guns most likely aren't in Skyrim though. No idea of future TES games.

Azura's star is what you should look for right off the bat. It would be the reusable battery as you blast through Skyrim lol.

Just think if staff's recharge again. You won't even need soul gems. The guns will just do it for you.
