Guns you wish were in the game.

an epicly slow rifle, since it would never 1hk... would be very ineffective, especially in a game like this, where its all fast and frantic... You want something that can get off a couple rounds before your prey target is gone...

True, that would have to be 1-hit, at least in the head. Like the SR8 in Urban Terror. That thing is carnage if you get a nice campsite.

Exactly what the developers are trying to avoid.

But you can't ever find a nice campsite, so half your team need to stick around helping you out, or you need to take a secondary weapon and armour instead of gear... It actually works quite well. Except with spawn camping. That svcks.

No, I wasn't suggesting that Brink should have an SR8, I just wanted to mention it as an example of something not to put in. Although I'd like a big, slow, powerful gun for close/mid range.

Possibly a double-barrel shotgun?

Not nessecarily "these" real world weapons, but something that resembles them:
For heavies:
Auto Assault-12 (AA-12)--->an automatic 12-gauge shotgun that can fire 300 rounds per minute and is recoilless.
M72 Law---> basicly a "bazooca" but old as, no heat seeking tech, just a "one-shot" exposive in a tube.
FN Minimi---> Machine gun firing 7.62x51mm or 5.56×45mm bullets at a high rate of fire.

For Lights:
Graqe-Shot/ LeMat revolver---> the central barrel is smoothbore and can function as a short-barrelled shotgun (hence the name "Graqe Shot Revolver")
.50cal Desert Eagle---> massive pistol, the lights' version of heavy artillery
TDI Kriss Super V? submachine gun---. fire rate of 800-1100 rounds per minute

And don't forget the mighty rocket propelled chainsaw!!!--->http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?66428-Rocket-Propelled-Chainsaw-%28in-action%29.

AA-12, it's in mw2, and guess what? it's overpowered <.<
would like to see a more balanced version though.

m72 LAW, sounds like the one in Jagged Alliance 2, anyways, as far as i figured it out, there will be no missiles ingame.(was i wrong? would like more info on this issue)

FN Minimi, nice gun *cough*made in my country*cough*, not necessarily because of the previous stated reason, i might enjoy changing my gotlun mini gun to a minimi-based gun :goodjob: good thinking

The AA-12 in real life, is A LOT more brutal than it is in MW2.

AK, G36, AA-12 (I love shotties), AUG and maybe some odd-but-cool looking guns.

Throwing knives, crossbow

Please no throwing knives.

And I don't think the crossbow would work as no weapons are OHK and a crossbow really isn't something you shoot off frequently.

I don't want to go on about MW2 on a brink forum but the AA 12 is not op at all it has the range of a Grandmother fart... in mw2 it does anyway.

I am well aware that there are no OHK in brink, I was thinking more on the lines of a rapid fire that could kill in 3-4 bolts, not essential but it's merely an idea.

And why not have throwing knives? Not mw 2 style but knives like in red dead redemption

repeater crossbow?
and anyways, it would be HIGHLY unlikely someone took a crossbow to the ark. and making them isn't quite easy.
furthermore guns are more reliable and easier to handle. and where would they get the bolts?

throwing knives, i don't like them, in mw2 it's used by people who want a fast OHK, or they get thrown around blindly in hopes of hitting someone(after wich you would hear 12year olds shouting about how good they are). and again, a gun is much easier to handle so why would they use a throwing knife?

Again it was merely an idea, brinks inhabitants are a large mixture of people from different parts of the world, if you have ever seen Ross kemp on gangs, he visited a prison where inmates fashioned crossbows from there limited resources, if the resistance engineers can setup up turrets I don't see why they couldn't make homemade crossbows. Also hunters use crossbows today to hunt animals and such, if there was a large selection of weapons in the armories of the security before the war, perhaps they had crossbows within them.

Also I don't wish to see throwing knives in the game that would be OHK's but I don't see why a character couldn't use throwing knives( in cunjunction with a pistol perhaps) they are merely another accessory to kill an enemy, as they are used in red dead redemption which are not OHK's but which require skill and luck to use them correctly

if it's for hunting, i don't see why it would be brought to the ark...
and it's not because you are a good mechanic that you know how to make a crossbow.

and they already have a knife for pistol melee. why add another knife to throw with?

Crossbows are still used by military personnel today, not just hunters, if you think about it, it could be used to scale buildings and be used as a zipline to allow players to move from one place to another! I highly doubt they will put it in but it could be useful, it's just a weapon I think would be cool if they included it.

And as for the knife/ pistol combo I was just suggesting a way it could be implemented, I think it would be cool if we could use them but I see that some of you are not as keen on the idea

It'd be cool if you could use it to travel buildings. You shoot over and then secure the zipline to the ground below you, or you could do it as you jumo and then swing.

I hope shotguns at point blank range (closer than 1 meter) are OHK or almost OHK.

Well as long as you get a couple.

Like being sniper bait?

Its called being a light. What's the point of smart if you have ziplines everywhere?
