M-249 SAW (i think it will make a helpful addition by laying down lots o' bullets (suppresive fire) that would allow your team to flank the enemy or give them time to fall back)

Erm...Suppresive fire almost never works in FPS's (people aren't really afraid of virtual bullets)

That's because in most FPS your character is a bullet sponge. Play a shooter with a realism mode and Suppressive fire becomes a great tactic.l But from the looks Brink wont have that kind of game mode.

Throwing knives would be awesome. And NO, they don't have to be OHK, it is just fun to go around throwing knives at people shooting guns. Especially when you actually kill someone. It makes me want to say something along the lines of....

I bet you wished I didn't bring that knife to our gunfight now. [que dun-dun-DUN music]

While I can't add any guns to this list, I would like to see it be possible to load different types of ammunition for each weapon - White Phosphorous and High Explosive rounds for the Grenade Launcher, Armour Piercing and Incendiary rounds for the assault rifles and sniper rifles, slugs and buckshot for the shotguns and so on.

see...theres this gun. Its from this game called "real life" that has multiple campaigns. Amongst these campaigns is one called "WWII" and the gun that should be in this game is this thing called an stg 42. The mother of all assault rifles

I hope shotguns at point blank range (closer than 1 meter) are OHK or almost OHK.

in a video a guy takes a shotgun blast to the back and he goes down and gets finished off so they are essentially OHKs

ak47 has really became a stereotype...
it has not been produced since 50's :D
when there are so many newer models...

on topic:
I also wouldve liked a portal gun :P

ak-47 is still one of the worlds best guns ever made, and still will be in 50 years

I wish for no real world weapons - looks like I may have gotten my wish.

Yeah, but many of the weapons appear to be somewhat futuristic adaptations of real world weapons which is a pretty neat idea in my opinion. That said, to those of you who requested the MP7- the "Hockler" machine pistol offered in the Steam Spec Ops DLC appears to be an adaption of the MP7 without the foregrip or stock extended. Also in terms of what I'd like to see...not sure actually. I can't bring to mind the weapon selection screen at the moment so I'm not sure how many are already added but a few more bullpup weapons would be neat.

EDIT: Sorry, did not see that so many people already mentioned the Hockler. My mistake. Also, if balanced/not a major feature (i.e. hard to get like in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars) I could see dual wielding of some pistols/machine pistols working. SMGs, though- contrary to what MW2 suggests- should be out of the question. The amount that this has been featured in promotional videos suggests that we will be getting it but at this point I don't think it's been confirmed or denied.

i hate topics like this, i see so many suggestions that are just horrible...and seem to be drawn from the call of duty series...
my biggest annoyance is the AA-12...the real gun cycles at 300 rounds per minute (5 rounds per second)...you can manually pull the trigger faster than it cycles in full auto...which means that something like the striker would be better, so they fixed the problem by increasing the cycle rate to 8 rounds per second. another problem with the AA-12 is the magazine system is just plain silly...a mag that runs on a guide rail is going to cause major issues in real combat...which is why the military is not interested in them. the weapon has been in the works for over 30 years, and still no military contacts...go figure. a better fully automatic shotgun would be a automatic converted saiga-12.

anyway...

it would be nice to see a ACR type weapon, though the SCAR weapon pretty much fills this role. a F2000 based weapon, or a AK platform would be very nice, something along the lines of the new AEK-971
http://russian-weapons.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/aek-971-2.jpg

a HK 93 could be cool also
http://www.hkpro.com/image/HK93A2A3.jpg
seeing as this is also set in the future, i dont see any reason why a HK G36/XM8 style weapon couldnt be added as well.
