INTRODUCTION

Are you interested in socializing with Crysis 2 players your age but haven't been able to "weed out" all the adolescent players? Have you been unable to join traditional, time-consuming clans because, being responsible advlt, you have had to juggle your free time with going to college, taking care of children, or being employed in a full time job? In short, are you interested in an online experience akin to "shooting the bull" with a group of drinking buddies? If so, then the Crysis 2 Gunslingers is the right place for you!



MEMBERSHIP


We are fortunate to have over 1,950 advlts registered on our homepage, and a Crysis 2 Contacts Master List that is growing by the day.
We have a large collection of parents. And we have the large collection of the working men (and women) members.

If you would like to join the club, you need only to fulfill two things:

1. Be at least 18 years of age or older.
2. Register your membership at our forum: GunslingerGaming.com • Index page

That's it! We don't ask for resumes, kill/death ratios, probation periods, or any other sort of silliness. You just want to have fun, right? So do we! If you would like to learn more about membership with the Gunslingers, feel free to visit our "How To Join" page of at our website.



GUIDELINES

We like to ascribe the Gunslinger experience akin to having drinks with some buds after work or partying with them on the weekends. Nothing stops the music faster than a few knuckleheads, so we do have a few guidelines we expect people to follow during their stay:

• pormographic and/or obscene material is prohibited.
  
• Self promotion by new members will likely be treated as spam. This includes promotion of own non-commercial websites.
  
• No personal attacks on other members or various sorts of offensive behavior is allowed.
  
• No glitching/hacking/cheating. We define such as purposefully accessing the game's programming or abusing a flaw in the programming to achieve an act or status that is not intended or possible otherwise.

CLAN FEATURES

The Gunslingers experience is as simple and non intrusive as joining up with other advlts your own age and playing some Crysis 2 at your convenience. For those of you who like to take part in activities, events, and communications beyond that simple formula, we offer several popular, optional features as well:

New Arcade Game Installed - As a weekly tradition, a new game is installed in the custom GS Arcade every Monday. This week's addition features Cubis 2, the addictive puzzle game made famous on the ipod and iphone! Hone your cube evaporating skills while aiming for the highscore! Unlike the arcades with only a pre-loaded selection of games often included in pre-fabicrated clan sites, the Gunslingers Arcade has the ability to add new and classic games at will!

In fact, we have some absolutely exciting milestones to celebrate this week. For one, March 2011 has already been the busiest our clan's homepage has EVER been! I have the proud privilege to announce a truly fantastic milestone for the Gunslingers. As of today, March 30, 2011, we have over 2,011 members!

It feels like only yesterday when we were jokingly giving our friend, KaminoChiizu, some grief in the GS Chat for always stopping by but not "officially" being a member because he hadn't got around to registering an account in the GS Forums. In fact, that was on October 5th, 2009. He became our 200th member. In a little less than a year and a half later, we can celebrate a milestone entirely unpredictable. I ask all of you to give toast to all the great new members we have gotten in the last seven days that propelled us past the 2,000 member mark:

I am humbled by not just these 56 greenhorn Gunslingers for choosing to join our ranks in just the last seven days, but I am deeply thankful for all of you believing in our group enough to continue coming back, keep adding to the backbone of a goal to provide a home for all of us older gamers, and, most importantly, for appreciating the friendly welcomes enough to keep paying it forward to new members.

Thank you all for making the Gunslingers what I continue to recruit us as. Sure, I can say all the nice things in the world in various recruiting threads across a pantheon of game developer forums, but if it wasn't for all your cognitive discussion to keep putting meaning in my words, they would be just words.

Thank you to the Gunslingers staff. They have volunteered their time to help keep our community on track, leading by example, make our home look and function better, and for fielding the questions, ideas, and concerns of all of us. We would not be here without them.

We should be proud of having over 2,011 members at the beginning of 2011. I imagine you have scanned through the recruiting section of the forums, seeing more and more groups using descriptions like "laidback," "chill," and "easy-going" because they know it gets a reaction. We keep our members' experience at their convenience and at whatever level of involvement that is most comfortable with them. Thank you for your question, cooterkat! I will answer it both here and via private message since you may be asking about information other potential Gunslingers may wish to know, too.

The Gunslingers have been around since 2007, giving home to over 2,000 fellow parents and advlts in that time. Throughout our clan's existence, we have featured and actively recruited for several blockbuster game titles, which includes other Xbox360 titles such as Call of Duty titles, Red Dead Redemption, Homefront, etc. If you are looking for a way to expand your ability to game with like-minded advlts for your Xbox360 ventures, I sincerely believe we would be perfect for you.

If you are looking for a clan/group that gives you fulfilling roster of folks exclusively for Crysis 2, the Gunslingers can more than succeed in that department as well. The distinct advantage of having so many members is that each game we decide to feature with its own Gunslinger Forum and Chat is that members have the ability to regulate exactly what they get out of the GS experience. I joined Gunslingers for a place to meet folks for GoldenEye Wii and was pretty surprised how many clan members there were for a Wii online title. I stuck with it and just kept finding more games that I had in common with the others... Red Dead, Little Big Planet, MAG and now Crysis 2 (just to name a few). I also figured that I'd eventually run into some jerks (they're everywhere), but I haven't yet. So, mature gamers, come on over... jerky douchebags, stay away

As we gear up for another celebration of the end of a workweek by sharing some rounds of brews and games in the Gunslinger tradition called Frosty Pints this Friday and Saturday, we also have some other fantastic news!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GS*FIST_OF_METAL! Thank you for being an active member for two years now, and it is an honor to celebrate yet another birthday with you! I hope you have a great time!

Gunslinger members are quite creative. Just take a look at the following ways GS* members have contributed to the clan:

1.) The Gunslinger Gaming Toolbar - GS*USMC Sgt. Teufel made an internet browser toolbar that can be used by any Gunslinger member using Internet Explorer or Firefox. With the Gunslinger Gaming toolbar, you have ready access to all GS* Facebook, Twitter, Blog, Forum areas, and other activity updates of the Gunslingers regardless of what you are viewing on the internet! 3.) Default Avatar- Misfit has created the default avatar used in the Gunslinger Gaming forum if a member doesn't choose or upload one of their own. Thanks to his continued creativity, brand new GS* members already have cool avatars right out of the proverbial gate!

4.) Jukebox - Many clans out there showcase some sort of playlist or music player full of songs they like as fans. The distinction between theirs and the Gunslingers is that our jukebox is comprised entirely of music created by Gunslinger members! We have the absolute fortune of being the home of rockers such as dike Lazer, Shotgun Jen, Angels13Wings, Balki, jANK, Geo, Cope, Lokooyv, Uneek13, Snake, and Mxyzptlk who have been willing to share mp3 versions of their work with the rest of the Gunslinger community! hey guys, dike Lazer here. ive been a gunslinger for a couple years now, and i gotta say it is the best bunch of folks around. started with the wii, mkw, and tcon. moved on to cod series and got a ps3. now its all about crysis 2. well and bo. lol.

anyways if your over 18, like to game, sick of the kids. GS is the place for you. frosty pints are always a good time, and we have um most nights! when i joined i think there was around 50 members, now theres well over 2000. yeah, we kick ass. lol now we dont do clan wars and the like (mature) we still love to pound other clans into the ground when we run across them

This Week (April 18th-24th) had several big releases, so we have added Master Lists for the following games:

Add away! As always, you can view the Table of Contents for the complete list of Master Lists hosted on Gunslinger Gaming. It is found within the Master Lists of Contacts section of the GS Forums.

As we have grown in membership, we realize that the more popular games (thankfully) end up with master lists massive in size, which can cause frustration when attempting to figure out who to add first. We need a master list system that is as readily accessible as it is readily easy to update so members can add their fellow GSers while GS Leaders can get new members added to the lists in a timely manner.

Where there is a will, there is a way. Toezer, our webmaster, has just propelled the functionality of the our Master List forward, and I dare say we are the first gaming clan to ever do it. From now on, you will see master lists added that will let you reorganize the list by several criteria, such as alphabetized names, alphabetized game contacts, chronological order, region, or console by a simple click of the button!

Frosty Pints takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings, which actually means all day Friday and Saturday due to having members from time zones across the globe. (Quite the bender, huh!?) The busiest times tend to be from 3:00pm PST and on.

Gunslinger Gaming Newsletter for week of 4/26/2011

The Gunslingers, always out to improve our gaming experience and our time at our home site, has the following, recent updates!

1.) For all of you racing fans out there, the motorcycle racing game, "Speed Biker," has been added to the GS Arcade! Speed through traffic collecting bonus points while aiming for the highscore! We personally install a new title every week to ensure an unique experience while visiting! Check out "Speed Racer" and other arcade classics at http://www.gunslingergaming.com/phpbb/arcade.php


2.) We have added another feature to the Gunslinger Gaming site for times when you are between games, unable to game (i.e.: when a significant other has control of the television set), or simply during times when you are looking for a different sort of entertainment while still with your fellow 'slingers.

The new, improved GS Theater Chat feature has been added!

From this feature, you can select a movie to watch from a library of different titles, which will expand soon, via genre-based drop-down menus. Additionally, you can choose to have the lobby chat appear next to the theater screen by a simple click of the button. That way, you can watch movies at the Gunslinger Gaming site yet still chat with all your GS friends. Give it a try!

3.) As we announced last week, the Gunslingers are proud to showcase a forum-based Master List system unlike any other clan! Now, without use of third party software or rerouting to a html page or Google spreadsheet, GS members can resort our game master lists of contacts by forum name, game contact, country, platform, and even by whether or not a person has a headset!
