Guys.... help me out here, I just don't get what's going on.

I think he meant that in a different way.

Well, exactly. I want debuffs. I want to die. I can still choose when my character eats, sleeps and drinks, but if I ignore it for too long my character will die of very real effects. Sounds immersive + like roleplaying value to me. 'Course it should be optional.

....except eating food and drink will replenish health. So it's completely viable to play without using stimpacks, if you choose to play like that.

Am I the only one who who HATES games that make you eat? When I'm gaming, I barely like to have to get up to make ME food, much less have to do it for my character. I wanna play the game, not have to satisfy arbitrary needs in a video game. Maybe I'm crazy

What he said.

I am actualy in the same lane as you. I play these games to imerse myself away from reality. I dont need the game to turn into a game of keeping a bunch of bars neatly at some predifined point. Jugling needs is not my way of play.

That said, i dont mind the option, cause like me wanting to play one way, i know others like to play it the other way. Who am i to say no and deny them that.

So yes, add the option of a "hardcoe, need to sleep, eat and drink" gameplay, that way both parties are satisfied.

The casual gamers (me) can play the game their way, and the hardcoe RP'ers can play it their way.

You can it just seemed like this was one of those senarios of got an early copy thing. Cant leak information can talk about speculative thing but not anything that is actually being leaked.

I'd like to know that myself. I've seen it on the menu screen, but what is it? How does it work?

I understand that bro. What I'm saying is, I don't ever use that option and have no interest in mods that add features like that, etc. But I see people all the time who are all into it and I don't get why people like having arbitrary rules on eating/sleeping/drinking in a game

I remember Baldur's Gate forced tiredness on you.

Sure I want my games to be realistic, so let's have eating, sleeping, pooping, etc etc...

Actually, no. B)

They should add good bonuses to food and water so you should drink and eat but it isn't mandatory. Maybe bonuses could scale depending how much you have eaten or drank. So if you haven't eaten for a long time, you could get more benefits from eating. I think that would be better system than some meters that tell you when to eat. Don't know if that kind of mods exists in Fallout 3 or NV?

I don't know about you guys but I definitely find it immersion breaking when I see those beggars and towns in desperate need of water and food, but when I look at myself it's like "What the hell is wrong with you guys? I've been out here for 17 years and not needed one sip of water or a bite of food!" Not to mention those entire shops and settlements devoted to food and water selling that I can't or otherwise don't need to use.

Maybe it's just me.

I've thought it should work like this for a long time. Applying extra perks like 'Well Fed' and 'Hydrated' that work along the same lines as the 'Well Rested' perk would be an ideal solution in my opinion. Certainly better than the arbitrary busywork of the NV 'hardcoe' meters.

I think im going to miss hardcoe mode for the immersion of primary needs, but then it's not nearly a big deal.

The only thing that actually effected gameplay in any way was the healing items taking effect over time, and that seems to be in. My New Vegas character has never been in danger of not meeting his primary needs. The only thing that even makes me run out of supplies is forgetting to restock when I pass by a town.

You may apply any rules you choose for your own character. You enforce them and don't have them enforced by others.

Ya...but...some peoples opinions matter more then others. I want a mode where you MUST eat every ham you come across. if you don't, you get a de-hammed debuff that makes you walk slow and reduces xp gain. THIS MUST BE A THING!

I do not like [irradiated] ham.

I do not like it Sam I Am.

I will not eat it in a Vault;

I will not eat it with some salt.

No one ever said their opinion mattered more than yours. I want the option of hardcoe mode why is that an issue for you? Enlighten me.

Very very hard. Turns your armor into tissue paper and your guns into supersoakers.

Makes more "legendary" enemies and makes healing slower.

For some reason people on this forum go insane every time hardcoe mode is talked about. It was a very well recieved feature that lots of people would like to see return. But, if that is brought up on these forums it turns a portion of the users into rabid dogs that attempt to tear the person apart.

It's really confusing why these people get so militant.

I suppose some people cant see a discussion going on without flinging their opinions around like a chimpanzee.

Just a feeling I got from the conversation. There might be some bleed over from a top from a while ago (about having a "mode" that about 3 actual people wanted) and I got caught up in the flow. I'm sure the survival (FO:NV style) mode will appear as soon as the modders get their hands on it. Just RP it until then.

edit: entitlement
