HackingLock picking shouldn't stop time

Post » Fri Jan 22, 2016 9:10 am

Really quick, I was thinking about this last night, our radar should stay active while we hack or pick locks and we should be able to get attacked while this happens. Also, my buddy Ivan Ratner said that the risk of being ghoulified would be a good addition. You only have a certain amount of time to cure yourself before your change becomes irreversible . Like after a certain radiation level you have that warning pop up on your screen that your are showing signs of becoming a ghoul and you have to rush to a doctor, or some cool new drug, to cure yourself. Maybe add some points to your endurance and subtract some from strength.

Yes, I think we should be open to attack while lockpicking.

And yeah, it would be kinda cool for radiation exposure to eventually cause ghoulism.

I would like the option, what if survival gave you a check list like eating food, drinking water, required sleep, ammo weight. I mean I like a challenge in my games.

I've got a similar thread going on this, and agree completely about hacking/lockpicking.

However, we're probably being a bit hypocritical if we retain VATS and fast travel.

Since first person mode is so much better I actually don't use VATS and pretty much only fast travel when im going to a store. But screw it lets put those options in the list, no VATS or fast travel

No for me. I already dislike the mini games, if they were in real time, it would really make me dislike Fallout 4. I just wish they would get rid of them.

You forgot about going to the washroom as well. If you eat and drink, but don't go to the washroom, you will die. Also you need to bathe as well, I mean everyone must stink. Is that why we have all these gas masks in Fallout 4? It's not like it makes breathing any easier. :P

Seriously now, that is not a challenge. That is just tedium. When they had this in New Vegas, I never really thought I was eating 3 square meals a day. I would agree about ammo weight but then again, more tedium than necessary and so glad Bethesda left it out.

I want to have fun. I do this enough in real life. I want to get away from real life.

If you're a ghoul, it would make it impossible to side with the Institute and the BoS, and if it's purely cosmetic, then there's no point, and it would break immersion if no one recognize it or if factions like BoS would still make you into a paladin or sentinel.

I wonder if they considered not pausing the gale when using the pipboy, since you can move your arm and see what's behind now. But doing that looks weird and it seems pointless with everything frozen.
