had a dream about skyrim

it was a really cool dream though. and a cool senario or quest idea...
i had a companion, and we were both wearing cloaks. i had a bow and he had a shortsword. our quest was to steal back a magical stone from a bandit leader who was located at this big hardy nordic bandit camp with some tents made of animal pelts and a few cabins in the built on the foot of a mountain, all surrounded by a wall of http://static-p3.fotolia.com/jpg/00/05/52/94/400_F_5529441_vb6AFlqO6nD7BF3bqTLSmB1Ryimq1F7n.jpg (somewhat resembling knothole glade from fable). it was in the middle of the snow.
we waited for nightfall because the camp was somewhat heavily guarded, and we could pretty much count on nord bandits to be heavy drunk after sunset.

we looked all around and there was no way to get in other than the front entrance. so we waited for the right chance to strike. there were two half awake guards each standing on top of a watch post on either side their wall. i waited until i cas comfortable enough, then shot the bandit on the right directly through the throat with my bow. he made a ruckus on the way down when he crashed into a pile of firewood at the bottom of the wall which alerted the guard on the left, until a few seconds later when my companion stabbed him in the kidney and pushed him off the wall before he bled too much.

i then met him on the inside of the gates. so we snuck, and i managed not to have to kill anybody before finding what obviously looked like the bandit leader's cabin. when we entered, the cabin was warm and the snow melted off our boots. we snuck down a narrow hallway occasionally getting glimpses into rooms of nords that have passed out until we got to the stairs at the end of the hallway. the cabin turned out to be bigger than we thought because it was built into the mountain. so as we came upstairs, we saw two bedrooms that were directly on top of the staircase (apparently the servants' rooms). the room we entered had a dining table in the middle, a bookcase on the side of the room that the mountain was on, and an open door to a storage room in the far corner.

my companion stayed in that room with while i looted the storage room where i found rare and odd clothing. i tried on a mask, realized it looked stupid, and tossed it. when i came out of the room i signaled my companion that we should look somewhere else. at that moment, one of the servant doors opened. i drew my bow and held it to his face and said i'd shoot if he didn't tell me where the bandit leader was located. he walked to the bookcase and what do you know? a secret bookcase door. he unlocked it. after that, my companion casted a spell on him that made him go back to sleep. we put him in his bed.

then we walked through the bookcase and i cast "lock" on it just in case someone tried to follow us. only about a room in, we saw that the bandit leader was actually a cowardly imperial. he saw us and dropped to his knees and gave us the stone....

then i woke up

i know it is completely pathetic to have dreams about skyrim this early on (or even at all). i know i'm probably going to be having more as it draws closer and closer to release, but few will be as awesome as this one. my subconscious actually impressed me with this one.

but what do you think? at least with the radiant AI you could imagine something like this being able to happen.

Surrendering NPCs? Now that would be nice... If faced with an impossible situation (arrow pointed to face at point blank) then there should be a chance that they surrender... Maybe some sort of thing like this, asking them where their leader is should be implemented... If possible.

That's quite a long dream, and it sounds interesting. I myself had a dream of Skyrim, but it was nowhere nearly as long and it sort of had bad graphics.

All I can remember is finding a dragon shout on a stone wall in the middle of a plain of grass. I used that dragon shout and it summoned a lightning storm around me. I also had a ridiculously large warhammer and the 3rd person view was like that of Oblivion. Seriously, I hope my dream doesn't come true.

Why do your dreams make so much sense?

Apart from weilding a bow and sword at the same time.

I wish I had TES dreams , alas my dreams rarely make any bloody sense and can be a bit disturbing.

I wonder how many people here are as guilty as you obviously are of only skimming posts and then replying.

I didn't skim, but I did misread. To be fair, it was a funny way to phrase it.

fixed it
but yeah you have to realize that this whole episode took place in the very same second and at the same time spanned throughout my whole sleep. quite confusing actually.
i woke up, and thats when i made sense of it and said "that was cool, i have to put this on the forums because i'm a loser and don't have anything better to do". ;)

(snip)

wow, your brain has some nice imaginative capability. I don't find it pathetic at all.

If you get Skyrim for PC, you could always take notes of all of that, and make a questmod involving this...sounds very interesting (but hurry, the brain deletes your dreams' data extremely soon, it's a defense mechanism it has...and yes, I'm serious, we forget 99,9% of all our dreams :)).

It's reasonable if you were the character in skyrim. It's only pathetic if you dreamed about playing it with a controller in your hands hahah

I had a dream about Skyrim too... I dreamed I played it on this cool futuristic computer with a huge touchscreen, and the graphics were great and everything... and after five minutes the game crashed and completely ruined my harddisk. :banghead: So I'll refrain from dreaming about playing Skyrim for the next few months undtil there are some decent gameplay videos that inspire my imagination to produce better dreams for me.

That was a pretty awesome dream!

I've had two dreams about Skyrim but they were only about going and buying Skyrim. As soon as I got the game in my hands I would wake up.

You know, his dream makes me think that co op in an Elder Scrolls game would kick ass. I have never thought of it this way but it would be so much cooler if that companion was someone you could actually communicate to do those things with. That situation you dreamt would never be possible in Skyrim. The companion is too smart.

BTW I am not in favor of any kind of multiplayer. I am just saying it would be cool but Beth should stick to single player.

I think it would be amazing to have an OPTIONAL coop mode where you can bring your character into other people's worlds and vice versa. the only problem and the reason i don't think it will happen is that there isn't really a way to get past the loading screens between different areas. like if one character is standing guard outside while the other scouts things out inside, it would have to be free of loading screens. otherwise one character would have to sit through a loading screen who knows what happens to the other. the outcome would just be really buggy.

Every time I dream about something awesome I think "man this dream is badass"...

Then, "wait, dream? [censored], it's just a dream! No no no! Keep dreaming keep dreaming, what happens next? Come on!"

Then I wake up, sigh, turn over and go back to sleep with the dream now thoroughly dispelled.

On the flip side this means that I can easily turn nightmares into lucid dreams or, failing that, just wake myself up.
