so I had a question on stealth and bountys

Post » Tue Sep 06, 2011 11:03 am

Was there animals, mainly horses, around? I think horses affect your ability to be undetected. A stupid flaw I hated in Oblivion

I was in someone's house... If only I could have brought my unicorn in there. It could have abruptly ended any inferior Legion meddler's life before I was even arrested!

Some pictures I can't stop laughing at:

And with that, I found my new avatar.

This is why I really think there shouldn't be any bounties incurred until a character leaves the world cell. Once I've done that, I do so with the knowledge that any still living witness (civilian or guard) has the time to report the crime. But before I leave the cell, I'm still indicating intent to resolve any sort of crime issues.

Well guys you do know back in the old days if a horse showed back up to camp by itself that was a sign of the owner being murdered. So maybe in a way the horse did tell? IDK honestly I do hope it was a bug because even if the horse did come back they wouldn't know it was you.

Murdered sure, but not who did it. It might have been an "accident".

Anyway I could live with bounties I earned. Being dragged to prison after saving the town of Bruma however was not fun, because the AI likes to run against the daedra being slashed with a claymore.

"When I calmed down I realized I had leveled up, and here I saw the new leveling system. When you level up, before anything else you choose which stat you want to increase: Magic, health, or stamina. Then you choose what skill to improve. " in paragraph 4.

Almost certainly referring to perks because we already know skills increase through use.

And you very easily jump the gun and assume they are back. The player in the article does not account all of his actions and could have stolen something or tresspassed or whatever without them actually knowing. I will wait to play the game before I believe that.

He probably didn't one-shot the guard. I'm guessing that an NPC must reach a guard after witnessing a crime to "report" it. Because the guard probably didn't die on the first hit, the guard essentially reported it to himself, causing a bounty. It was similar in Oblivion, but even if you did kill him in one shot, in Oblivion the system would automatically make the guards know, because the guard realized he was dead.

That still means there's a psychic guard thing going on though because the rest of the guards shouldn't know about his bounty if he killed him whether or not it took more than one hit since they're saying killing witnesses means no bounty.

That's a good point, and probably the case here.
