I had a suggestion to make about Skyrim's dragon

Regardless the voiceactor, I think they should digitalize te voice to make it an alien flavor. Maybe a metalic voice or something more original, but definatelly something strange and scary.

two words: Sean Connery

The problem with that is that I would have mixed emotions attacking the dragon. I would be a confused :turtle:

lolz, Seth Macfarlane ftw.

JK. Michael Clarke Duncan + audio tricks and stuff = win. Or someone else, I guess. Too expensive anyway.

In the BBC TV series Merlin, the Dragon is voiced by John Hurt.

I would like a great big voice for the dragons, filled with menace. Christopher Lee is great, but maybe a bigger sounding guy, like James Earl Jones.

Come on you guys! No one mentioned Lil Wayne? Or Justin Bieber? :o

Kidding, but all pleasantries aside I think the OP could have something but not for all the dragons, I mean Alduin will be massive, I don't want him to have the same voice, deep or not, as one of the smaller dragons.

@Unfriendly - you would insult Sean Connery if you didn't try to kill him.

no big time voice actors not ever.
Dont go wasting your budget on voices for things your gonna have to kill anyway.
Go find some dockworkers or other manly men, those tend to have just as scruffy deep voices, very suited for such creatures, and i'll bet they wont charge as much as Patrick Steward or Sean Connery.

I'd rather it be text than have voice acting at all. Leads to more fleshing out and no money used on VA at all. Besides I only listen to it once then skip when I've heard it before.

I would much rather they use unknown voice actors, due to cost and associations. But I would wager Michael Dorn has a look in.

I think that the voice for the main boss (Sorry not sure of his name) should be as they said it would be, but maybe if other dragons along the storyline can talk there should be variations

I think they should get Sean Connery to VA. He VA'd the dragon in Dragonheart.

The deep-scratchy voice thing for dragons is sooooo overdone. :yuck: Face it, they don't have the vocal apparatus for human speech. Therefore, they are using magic to "speak" so they can make their voice sound however they want.

Clearly, Alduin speaks not unlike a cosmic bulldozer.

Three words: Sean Connery Impersonator.

Now that's not a bad idea--someone who can successfully impersonate him would be less costly than the real Sean Connery... But I don't know if I want the dragon to sound like Sean Connery, or not? I think there are other actors who could sound better as a dragon than him...

Also: I'm not voting, because the only option is yes or no. What if I'm more in between? I hate all these polls that only give you all or nothing to choose from....

I'd really much prefer the dragons to not even speak in a language we understand. Bethesda made their own draconic language for the game, I would rather have them create a computer modified voice for the dragons that doesn't sound human, but instead ominous and otherworldly, that speaks the dragon language, and we just get subtitles to understand what they are saying.

Ok thanks for the answere, I do hope that there won't be too many dragons in the game. Otherwise the dragon encounters would not feel special anymore.
