I was watching a video that GameInformer had on there site. In one of the videos I saw that Mark Lampert, the audio director and sound designer, was talking about coming up with a dragons voice for the game Elder scrolls Skyrim. He was saying how he is thinking about using a voice actor with a deep and rough voice to play the dragons voice. Although I think that that is a good choice. I also think it is a very typical voice for a dragon. When I think of a dragon I think of a smart, wise, powerful dragon. With this being said I think that the dragon should have a wise but still powerful voice. Such as the dragon off of the television show Merlin that shows on syfi. So what do you guys think of this. Like or dislike???

I voted dislike. I really hope they have more personality than just wise and powerful. They should have a wide range of personalities with voices to suit them.

Dragons are huge creatures. You need to feel threatened by them.

Not all of Skyrim's Dragons should have the same voice. I'm hoping that it's 4 Voice Actors/Actress that are doing the voice for the dragons.

1 voice for a certain type of dragons
1 voice for another group of dragons that's different from the 1st voice's group
1 voice for more powerful dragons (Dragon LT.s or something similar)
1 voice for Alduin and it needs to be epic on a scale of Connery/Jones/Lee. Alduin's voice needs to have that deep, evil, powerful voice that makes you stop and say "Holy crap this guy is serious and a Badass".

I trust Beth but we can't have the Dragons be typical Fantasy Dragons. This is The Elder Scrolls we need Dragons to be unique and do things that you wouldn't expect.

They certainly need to sound powerful and ancient, as they've been in existence for far longer than mortals can remember back to, even the elves.

They might have some differing personalities if all of them are willing to speak to you, some would be dangerous and aloof from the mortal races, others might be aggressive and fierce, still more might be wise and cerebral.

I'm interested to see how they pull this off.

How about Paul St. Peter? The voice actor for the Nine-Tailed Fox from Naruto. He also did Grand Fisher from Bleach. Not sure if he's expensive but he's got a great voice and he has been on many other projects.
