It seems like that every 20 years, the fate of the entire multiverse is in the hands of 1 random dude. If I lived in Tamriel, I would instantly commit suicide. Period.

At least the Nerevarine was not random.

Could be referring to a future Akaviri invasion of Tamriel. This will most probably not be in TES V, but more likely in TES VI, VII or VIII.

Tosh-Raka is mentioned as the mightiest ruler in Mysterious Akavir, but of course all information contained in that book can simply be bogus... the Empire's invasion of Akavir only touched the coasts of Tsaesci, nothing beyond that, so it seems all the information contained in that books must have come from the Akaviri Potentate... and that snake is not exactly the most trustworthy person.

Then again..if the Potentate was going to make up a lie, wouldn't he try to make his own race sound more powerful than the tiger people?

Not if he wanted to paint his people as victims of an evil oppressor.

makes ya wonder if there are any hints in oblivion about what es 5 might be about.....

Like all the rumors that some of the other provinces were going to break away from Tamriel and start their own government rule?

i remember them being called back by the hist to fight the invading daedra, and that they were quite successful in doing so.

What? Where is this stated?

My guess as to hints is, well first look at the hints in morrowind. I talked about the rumor in game, (and should point out, I realize it wasn't pointing to exactly what happened but still it was a clue) then in the expansions things are expanded on So I say no one person in OB has all the answers, but we gotta look around a bit (and probably still won't find it) What do LOTS of people say, and then try and put something together from these clues. Lets find a few crazy guys who we think are just plain nuts, and put what they are saying together with some half right rumors and we may find something. The importance of the Unrest In Cyrodiil City topic is that it was just this floating topic that every said for some reason, as if bethsof was intentionally trying to give us some sort of hint...

If anyone else is a little caught up in the "look for hints in OB" thought, step back with me into the shadows and ponder whether the hint is in an older game.

I'll come with you.
Just let me pack my bags. The answer is there... somewhere.

The problem is that by the time someone gets it all figured out, they'll have announced it already! Those jerks!

The thing about being "called back" was an ingame rumor, and I think it was a dev that said the hist beat the crap out of the daedra. Would have been fun to see.

what do dragons and turtles have to do with each other?

dragons are, if anything, an imperial symbol...

-Turtle Ships are Korean, Akavir has an Asiatic taste to it.
-The level of technology for both societies are probably similar (late 16th century Korea sans guns, the Akaviri are more technologically advanced than the Imperials I hear)
-The ships could hold a lot of people for an invasion compared to dragon boats, look exotic and are a striking contrast to the boring cogs of Tamriel.

Such as the Necromancy and troubles on Summurset isle, The wars between House Redoran and The Nords of Skyrim, The Nerevarine in Akavir.

I think Bethesda could have had those mentioned in Oblivion, just to set the stage, or possible ways for the next Elder scrolls game to go,.
