Hair's n' hats

Couldn't find a topic on it, so I'll just kick this up.

So here's the deal, I've seen a butt pile of hair/face/race/etc mods. But they seem to have a bald head issue when applying hats to them. While base hairs and such don't have a bald head issue. So here's the thing, is this related to a particular setting in the geck? Or is this related to the way the nif interacts with another or another setting? It's been quite a few years since I've had to hammer anything out so I'd say I'm right at the newbie level.

dunno why that happens but i had the vanilla armor meshes extracted to the fallout folder and i had exactly that issue, deleting them again removed it

Hrm. It's one of the things I can't quite figure out. I'm wondering if it has something to do with overlay data. I'm kinda hoping someone has an idea what's up with it.

Hairstyles need two meshes: one for when the character is hatless, and one for when they are wearing a hat. I'd wager that whichever styles you're looking at don't have the hat-hair. I believe GrayeWolf is working on fixing that.

Yeah I knew greywolfe was working on *something* for that, but that's interesting to know and helps a heck of a lot. Back to modding then :D now that I have an idea of where and what to look for I can see if I can figure this stuff out.
