There used to be a TES group on steam. You should make a new group, public to join, called TES:HL2 or something. That way everyone can find everyone much more easily.

Joined up, does anyone know how the connection is between UK and USA? Is it even possible to play over that distance?

No idea, but I was playing Alien Swarm with my Australian friend and we were able to play well enough.

I heard that there is going to be a half life 2 mod that is about various school shootings.
