[RELZ] Half Races of Tamriel

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 1:30 pm

I disagree. I think one of the neat things about half-orcs is that they make for much more versatile characters than orcs, so you could play half-orc bards or non-shaman spellcasters or http://www.giantitp.com/comics/images/LiXMZNMmJmm16Q1nw7k.gif "Rugged" half-orcs would only reduce their versatility. I don't play Orcs, because in general, they're pretty ugly and mean.

And besides that, I don't think there's much dissonance between Westly's beautiful sketches and the race itself.

Beautiful, stunning, great !

Sunelves:
What do these 2 powers do: Call Desert/Northern Winds ? I casted one of them, but I could not figure out what it does. Sometimes I see messages like "Prepare to die, Arwen".
EDIT: Oh, I see. They are special summon creature spells. Nifty :)

A nudge, as I needed to redownload these myself for a bit of information for another mod :) .

Still or again, I am confused. Both spells do not seem to do anything. Are the summoned atronachs supposed to be invisible or something?

What does the spell description say in-game when you hover your cursor over the spell name in your magic menu?

If it says "Summon Frost Atronach" (or whatever other kind of critter), then I dunno.

If it says something more arcane and code-y like "sSummoneffect09" (or something like that) then there's a conflict somewhere with one of your other mods; something else is using that magic effect. (I ran into this with my Wolf's Eye Birthsign mod and with Birthsigns Are More Fun, where other mods can bork the special summoning.)

They (the Sun Elves) summon the winds; one can not see the winds (wind is essentially invisible, right), but one can see the effects of the wind. The new creatures that I made for them to summon are basically particle effect clouds (but are so faint that one can barely see them). Perhaps I will go back and make the creature more visible, but I assure you that your not being able to see the creatures at this point is normal ;) .

I see... err, I mean... all right then. I should try them in a battle :)

UPDATE:
Tuesday, July 28, 2009-
Added a separate download for v1.1 female body and hand textures. These new
textures are based on Westly and Cappucine's Extra High Rez body textures.
While these new textures are not "extra high resolution" themselves, the
effect/appearance is the same (though keeping a few elements of the
v1.0 textures).

Firstly, Amazing work! - the mod, races, textures, meshes... are all great.

Secondly, Who did you model the stone elf (first) face around? ... im thinking of making my own, and would really like to have a similar look to that person. What's her name? ... Or if it is a generated character, i guess i'm out of luck :ahhh:

The faces for these are painted (not modeled after
anyone save for the faces that exist in my imagination :) ).

EDIT: Making your own what, exactly (face, race)?
EDIT2: Generated Character?

my own head mod. Never done it before... so will probably fail. You have one heck of an imagination then :celebration: - it looks really real.

Edit: Is there any tips or suggestions you could give me? :hehe:

Westly,
I have just recently installed your Half Races mod (very nice) but have run into a strange little issue. For some reason, when I expand my inventory view to be larger (ie adjust the window size), the faces get pixelated as though I were stretching a very small image. It looks like the resolution is staying very small even when enlarging the preview. Other things such as clothing and armor show up normally so it's just the face. It looks as though I took a small icon and zoomed in to 200 percent or similar.
It seems that in normal 3rd person view, the face looks fine so it's just the preview. Unfortunately, I'll be seeing the preview far more often than the actual character being that I can't normally walk around facing the character. ;)

Any ideas on what's happening?

i installed half races for 3 times or so (everytime i had to reinstall my game) and this prob never happened to me. maybe you put the facefile in the folder once again.

start a new char, does this come with vanilla races too?

what mods do you use besides hrt?

Sister, thanks very much for the response.
I have come to conclude that the issue is with Morrowind Code Patch. One of the settings seems to cause this, perhaps the one that allows you to see alpha files correctly. (edit: upon testing, I have found this is not the setting that caused the issue)
I used to use Morrowind Code Patch without that problem but upon uninstalling all of the chances MCP makes, the faces were back to normal.
Do you happen to use MCP, sister?

Thanks very much.

Edit: I should note that I'm still testing and trying to figure out exactly which setting in MCP caused this problem so, I'll be sure to make note of my findings as soon as I find the culprit.

yes. this could be the issue with those pixel-size you need for the scrollable map. is http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc288/SisterV/mcp.jpg checked? and the one above? you can only run both or none of them.

and now, btt :)
