A Halloween Mod from TESA

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:30 pm

Before I clicked this thread I was skeptic, but now I'm excited as hell.

I wish I knew how to script so I could make a level.

Did you see some of the names that are competing :P

You dont really need to know how to script, if you can build stuff and have a mind for what can be scary then you can make a level. At the moment this is shaping up to be one awesome mod when it finishes. Multiple multi-level horror themed dungeons...

You don't need any scripting knowledge to create a level :), so it means you can join in :D

Oh no, for the kinds of things I have in mind I'd need to know how to script :P

Update: I have updated the Challengers list in the OP, we now have a total of 12 very talented competitors, and room for more!

And some sneak peek in dev screens of the Oubliette exterior; which is part of the mod, but not part of the competition:

These shots are about an hour's worth of development, just to give you some eye candy, I won't be releasing fully developed screens until after the mod launches on Halloween! :goodjob:

oh, you will be :toughninja:

i second that! lol

BTW, Darkrder, will the interior of the Oubliette that you are handling (i.e. not the rooms of the competition) be using the fort ruin architecture set?

Also, would you rather have further questions poster here or on the TESA forum?

My plan so far uses the ruin fort interior kit yes, an Oubliette is a sort of very nasty dungeon where people don't come out so it makes the most sense story wise, but I will also be utilizing some resources as well.

You can ask questions here or there, I'm watching both threads, but if your question is specific to your entry or urgent, you'd be best to PM me on the Alliance. :goodjob:

Well, mine will probably turn out comparatively lame to the rest of your, at least in terms of quality and content, but I'm hoping that I can still scare you all shwitless and take the scariest dungeon award (I'm a better writer than I am modder). I've already started, bring it on!

Where do I sign up?

Im a huge halloween nut! All hallows Eve is my favorite time of the year, since I grew up in Sleepy Hollow, New York.

If the spots are already filled up, I will just make my own halloween mod :P Seems like a good set of modders competing too, i.e bad company, whoguru etc etc etc

You should have like a special appearance of a halloween character as a special guide and explains whos it by and such and such in your Oubliette "hell-hole", hehe its a complement , i think it be niffty, like Haskell in SI, sorta like a guide

Woo Hoooo!... A Halloween Mod! And what a great way to do it!
I want to TIA all of the competitors for the effort you're putting into this. The list of modders looks awesome. The only one missing is The Priest. Can someone knock on his door and see if he'd come out to play?

Thanks guys and gals! I can't wait!

Great news! I thought he abandoned it and was no longer modding for OB but rather putting his efforts into a different game. Definitely looking forward to GTA3.

And this Halloween mod from TESA should be awesome as well.

most competitors have stated now whether they are in or out and there are about 10 - 15 at last cout i believe. So there will be a halloween release :)

There should be some really good entries in this.

I'm definitely looking forward to this, especially after those screenshots :D

However...what's the anticipated file size so far, and is keeping things vanilla encouraged? (IOW, no dependancy on things like OOO or MMM)

Keeping vanilla is encouraged, though participants can use modders resources. They are not allowed to have dependancy on any other mod and are not allowed to use OBSE for the same reason.
