Halo: Reach discussion

Post » Mon Nov 09, 2009 8:36 pm

After due consideration, I've decided to pre order the legendary edition. ^_^
This is the way I look at it; this is it, folks. This is the last Halo game that Bungie is going to develop. It sure as hell is going to be the best, IMO, from what we've seen. I say why not go all out, since I am a huge Halo fan.
Good choice :foodndrink: . But ya' know, this isn't the end of bungie, so they might possibly start a new FPS series, or something else.

Wait... Bungie isn't going to make a Ghosts of Onyx? But what about the the thing at the VERY end of Halo 3 when you... Well some of you may know what I'm talking about, so I'll say no more. Well that svcks. Oh well, Master Chief was getting a tad old for me anyways.

Will there be any kind of Third-person option for Reach? We know they have a Third-person model because of the close-up assassination kills. So wouldn't it just be a matter of adding that in. If we get to customize our armor, and since it looks kick ass anyways, I think third-person or some kind of over-the-shoulder view would be awesome.

This game looks SWEET!

Guys, I'm not sure if this is a reliable source, but when I pre ordered this at Gamestop yesterday. I was told Sept. 2 is when it is released. So if the clerk/Gamestop info is true, early September is our bet.

EDIT: Typo

'Course not. They have a new non-Halo game in development. Nobody knows what it is except for Nathan Fillion. =O

Fixed. They never said they're dropping the series iirc, it's just this is the last Halo game Bungie is making for a while.

Nope. They have stated in a live interview that Reach is Bungies last Halo game. What Microsoft does with the series after this game, that's up to Microsoft, but Bungie will have nothing to do with it.
Microsoft owns the Halo franchise, not Bungie.

Still wrong. It's their last Halo game for NOW. As in they have no more Halo games currently planned past Reach or for some years down the line.

Bungie's Halo exit of course far from means the series is over, as Microsoft's rather publicly assembled a new team to handle the franchise, 343 Industries.
Microsoft is taking over the IP.

But that doesn't mean Bungie won't make another Halo game down the road. I stand firm by my point.

Yeah, ok, in 10 years sure. But as for now, Microsoft is taking over the IP and making spin offs of the game with it. The fact that Bungie said they might make another game in..10 years isn't really credible information as far as looking forward to a new game by Bungie in the Halo series after Reach.
And that is assuming Microsoft lets them. As far as I'm concerned, this is their last, because we have no credible information concluding otherwise.
Anyway, this is getting off topic, if you'd like to continue the conversation, send me a PM.
On topic: Today at gamestop, they said the release date was September. I don't know how he knows this or if it's true, but that's not a bad wait. Long, yeah, but not as long as we'll have to wait for TES:V.

Combat Evolved was my favorite halo game (that game sent chills up and down my spine =D) and in the interviews the devs have said they're trying to make it more like the 1st game, which is why I'm extremely excited for it.

Multiplayer looks good but for me, campaign has always been where it's at, I can't wait for this game :celebration:

This may make me get gold XBL, I tried multiplayer before but the games I played made me hate it MW2 and Bioshock 2, so maybe this would be fun.

Halo 2 was the reason I got Xbox Live back on the original Xbox, and I was not disappointed with it. Regardless of what people say about the Halo games, they are damn good when it comes to online multiplayer, few games even come close.

Precisely. Halo multiplayer on xbox live is an experienced matched by none. People buy Halo games for the multiplayer, and Halo delivers in that area, regardless of haters opinions. Campaign has been touch and go since Halo 2, but Halo 1, 3, and ODST had pretty damn epic campaigns.

I agree. I loved Halo 2s multiplayer, Halo 3s multiplayer was pretty good.
