Damn, that's a pretty short amount of time for a beta. I imagine there are several thousand people out there who will do nothing but play the beta for those 16 days.

I want to play the beta so bad! But I cannot! Oh well I guess I will have to wait until I the actual game comes out.

It sounds like Bungie took a long time doing a deal with the devil at least, which probably means they nailed it so that Activision can't boss them around like they did with Infinity Ward. Hopefully they also secured the right to have the final say on their games.

Well, look on the bright side. Thank god it isn't Ubisoft. Activision may be pretty damn evil, but at least their games don't have extremely draconian DRM and no manuals.

So Bungie's most ambitious game is called "Reach". I'm guessing that wasn't on purpose...

Well the planet Reach has been in the lore since way back. It was mentioned in the intro scene of the first game, and was basically the setting for the first novel.

No, but they are run by a guy who has said he wants to take the fun out of games development, would charge more for all of his games if he could, and is a cthulhu-esque embodiment of greed.

And there are speculations about an MMO, with it having been mentioned that Blizzard has something to offer to Bungie (or something along those lines).

The change from Microsoft to Activision means nothing to me, considering it wont impact Reach at all, and that's all I care about. Bungie is done with Halo after reach, at least for many years to come, so it's a moot point IMO. In my opinion.

So, is everyone excited for this because of the multiplayer? Is the story mode sounding good? I heard it might be squad based, any word on that?

I've not heard campaign is squad based, I'd be really pissed off if it was. So would like, 90% of the Halo fans, so I'd guess it wont be.

And btw, doesn't the fact that Bungie is moving away from Microsoft kinda set in stone the fact that Reach will be the last Bungie Halo game? Bungie can't make a Halo game without Microsofts approval, if they are leaving the company, why would Microsoft let them make another one?

They left the company a long time ago.

Also you do work with a squad. Just how much is up in the air though.

So how is Bungie making games owned by a company they aren't affiliated with? That makes absolutely no sense.

I think it's a publisher/developer type thing. Microsoft used to own them but back in... I want to say 2008... They split. It was also when 343 Industries was created.

Well they aren't owned by Microsoft, but Microsoft is publishing it, so I guess that's how. I think as long as they're publishing it, they will let Bungie make it.

Edit: Damn, ninja'd

Well, I've got the beta..

And..... IT'S SUPER AWESOME!(lol)

I've only played 5-6 games(and I won one), but sprinting and armor lock are incredibly helpful.

Ask any questions if you ya' want.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I heard it was fake AND illegal on that site, I got mine off eBay. I'd stay away from MS expert zone.

Hmm... okay. But people(forum users) on bungie said it was fake and you get hacked or something. I could just link you to the ebay product, there's still 8 in stock.

How's the gameplay so far, fallout3newbie? Are the graphics much different than Halo 3? How are the new weapons? Have you found a regular sniper rifle yet?
