Looking forward to this game immensely. I'm hyped about the multiplayer, yeah, but I'm more so excited about the campaign. I've always loved Halos campaigns, despite the criticism they get, for whatever reason.

I loved the campaign of the first game, hated the campaign in the second, thought the third was decent, and quite enjoyed ODST. Hopefully Reach continues the trend of the campaign getting gradually better with each game, then it should be pretty good.

I also feel that the first campaign was the best, it was just so new and fresh. The second, again agreeing with you, was the worst of the three, however I didn't think it was "terrible". At the time, I was really excited about it, and thought it was fun. But looking back in retrospect after having played all 4 games, it was the worst of the campaigns. Third is my second favorite, Halo 3 was just a blast to me, campaign and on Live. ODST was pretty decent, I'd put it at 3rd favorite, well behind Halo 3, but far above Halo 2.

The Halo 2 campaign started off good, but I thought it went terribly downhill once you left earth, and I don't think playing as the Arbiter really worked out very well. I enjoyed ODST a lot because I thought it was cool playing as something other than a Spartan and getting a more personal kind of story instead of the usual large scale Halo stuff. Plus, I'm a big Firefly and Battlestar Galactica fan, so I loved the voice actors.

[EDIT]: Anyway, back on topic, I think Reach is looking fairly good so far. Some of the new weapons are interesting looking, I look forward to using the DMR. It'll be cool having a decent pistol again as well, although it's a shame it doesn't look and sound as cool as the one in ODST. That thing was a beast.

Gah. That looks so freakin' epic. I love the way the sprint works, too. Really can't wait.

I think the DMR will be my favorite weapon. Anyone notice the when an elite does an assassination from behind sometimes he uses an energy sword even when he doesn't have one?

Does anyone know exactly what the legendary edition will have that the other doesn't? I heard mention of a "flaming helm"?
Also, is anyone else just excited as hell for this multiplayer? I think, judging from the videos we have access to at this point, it's safe to say this may very well be the best Halo online multiplayer experience. Just the upgraded look, the new weapons, the new features, it seems to have it all. ^_^
I personally like the idea of the elite/spartan differences, and the sprinting takedown looks pretty sick.
Although, I'm sure I wont be using it much. I'm more of a support player when I'm playing team games on Live. More of a sniper, long distance/mid range shooter with a battle rifle.

There's no official release date so far. It'll most likely come out in September though.

This is the way I look at it; this is it, folks. This is the last Halo game that Bungie is going to develop. It sure as hell is going to be the best, IMO, from what we've seen. I say why not go all out, since I am a huge Halo fan.
