[RELzWIPz] Hammerfell

Unless someone finds errors within the border esp, it should be the final version. Arthmoor, do you want to make patches, or should I try?

For the UL's, we only need one for Lost Coast. We'll handle that.

The complications rise when you start factoring in Sutch Reborn, Eagle's Rest, and possibly even Castle Seaview. I haven't gone back to see exactly where your road leads off from Fort Brena and connects down to.

Since there does appear to be some demand for a Sutch Reborn patch, yea, I'm considering it. I'm not sure what I could do though - as I understand it, Fort Brena overlaps with the Sutch docks. One or the other would have to be removed, I guess. I've not actually played any of the DC mods, the whole huge resource pack thing has been putting me off.

Right now Battlehorn is patch priority #1, since its an official plugin.

Arthmoor: thanks :) the road connects right at the junction of the road to Lord Drad's estate, iirc. Theres a stonewall section with a bandit.

anithinks: Fort Brena sits in Cyrodiil, at the mouth of the Brena river, north of Anvil.

Is that fort mod-added or vanilla? I'm guessing mod-added as there is no mention on UESP... is the fort added by your Hammerfell mod?

It's a border fort added by this mod. You have to pass through it (or through other two passes) to get to Hammerfell.

I could make a patch for Sutch Reborn if you like, although Sutch Reborn has actually been replaced with New Haven, which doesn't have any docks. Really, users of Sutch Reborn ought to switch to New Haven and wait for County Sutch which will include a new version of Sutch.

Thanks for the headsup Vorians.

I did read on the http://www.forums-dragoncaptions.com/the-county-sutch-project-t545.html for COunty Sutch that Sutch Reborn is to be replaced by NewHaven (or Sutch Redux) that has no docks, but docks will be reworked as 'County Sutch - Owls Cove'. So I guess a patch would be needed, whenever Owls cove is released... and maybe a patch for Sutch Reborn for those who don't want to upgrade...

When you go through the border crossing at Fort Brena. As soon as the game loads on the other side, stuff is missing.

I have this too. Has it been figured out how to fix it?

Not that I know of. Have you tried opening it in the CS, selecting everything that is missing in game and moving it slightly, then saving it as a new esp?

I've just uploaded a file that should fix the pink distant LOD for those still having issues. If your land is fine, there is no need to download it. If you're having problems, you should get it.

I'll download the fix as my land is purple.

First I had things exactly like in Arthmoor's screenshots. Then I checked it out in CS and moved that bridge abutment a bit and saved and now it's there. But there's no way I could know what should I 'nudge' in cs since there's a lot missing:

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll54/pero_lozhach/screen6.jpg

I hope you'll manage to resolve that. I won't be able to play the game for a few weeks from now.

Edit:

Here's report!
The patch has solved the problem of purple land textures! :)

Now about the missing stuff... I have loaded borders esp in TES4Edit and navigated to the bridge in Hammerfell.esm and did copy as override into borders esp. That way the bridge showed in game. Maybe it could be one of those Oblivion's worldspace awkwardnesses. There's also land missing.

Then the third thing, not so important imo. I have entered into Kaneth's house just by the bridge and when I went out http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll54/pero_lozhach/screen6-1.jpg :D

Lady N: I request a (future) patch for the UL- Cloudtop Mountains - this borders Hammerfell and provides mountain passes into Hammerfell (these are beautiful and make feel Cyrodiil a part of Tamriel). It would be great to walk from Cyrodiil to Hammerfell through these mountain passes and forts!

I have a plugin file with everything that needed the nudge done. It fixes the missing stuff problem when I use it and I don't see why it wouldn't for someone else. If anyone wants it, I can put it up on a 4shared link.

It's a bit weird to have to do it, but perhaps the nudges could be incorporated into the borders ESP? That would solve the problem without taking up another slot.

If anyone is interested, here's the nudge file from the previous post: http://www.4shared.com/file/DZnBTiuf/RihadNudges.html - drop in anywhere really, it only modifies the Hammerfell master.

Also, for anyone who might have been waiting for it, the patch for http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13834 is up.

Hi, I'm having lots of "data error/file is broken" errors while extracting the last Hammerfell archive with 7-Zip. Tried with the previuos release too but ended the same.
Just to be clear, this is not my very own computer and I can't be sure about hw problems at the hard disk level... but I tried with other mods packaged with .7z and I'm able to extract them cleanly. Any help?

thx

I'd recommend re-downloading the file, perhaps on a different computer. You might also want to try opening it with a different program. Its definitely not the archive's fault, since its worked for everyone else.

Thanks for the patch Arthmoor and John :)

It would need to go in the borders ESP, I already tried directly modifying the ESM and the changes don't work there.

I have merged Arthmoor's patch into Borders, but I still have stuff missing inside Rihad (almost everything, as seen on previously posted screenshot) and some land that's missing or misplaced.
I'm most interested in reason why is that happening. Is anyone else experiencing that?

Inside the city itself? I don't think there was actually a lot in there to begin with, and it's in a separate worldspace. Are you missing chunks of walls and stuff? If so I can check it myself and then see if the patch file needs more data to resolve the problem.

No idea what actually causes it. Something somewhere got corrupted but there's no way to tell what. It's odd that using an ESP to patch over it works, but it beats the alternative which may end up being scrapping all of Rihad and rebuilding it from scratch.

I have some doors inside, but no buildings and other stuff which were supposed to be there and are there in the CS. It's really weird, I never saw that something that's in plugin doesn't show in game.

This always deserves a bump.

And I'd also like to report that in the Hammerfell worldspace, the bridge, many of the southern walls of Rihad, and some other things remain invisible/missing. When you're inside the city everything is fine.

Hi!
Unfortunately, Hammerfell doesn't work for me. :(
There's no land where it should be, no items where they ought to be, and the reason is a mystery.
Here's a pic of Lower class district and Junction village to illustrate it once again.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll54/pero_lozhach/screen7.jpg
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll54/pero_lozhach/screen8.jpg

Other thing that drew my attention are characters. In Hammerfell, homeland of Redguards, I expect to see most interesting and beautiful Redguards. The ones that I saw, for example this one:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll54/pero_lozhach/screen6-2.jpg
look like they have leper! Is this the case only in my game or do they look like that to everyone?
In any case, I'd like to suggest you to take a look at Better Redguards, RBP, or similar and to design characters to look better. For example:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll54/pero_lozhach/Picture23-1.jpg

And I have one idea for which I would like an opinion (Arthmoor? :)):
What would happen if I'd change (if that's even possible) Hammerfell.esm to .esp? Maybe that would fix things? Would it work? Plus changing borders .esp master accordingly.

I tried turning the ESM into an ESP at one point while trying to figure out what was going on. For me, it produced results like your screenshots - huge chunks of landscape went missing, buildings vanished, and there were even dead NPCs who had fallen to their deaths from great heights.
