[RELz/WIPz] Hammerfell

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:03 am

I see.. I don't mean sailing all around, but being in Anvil and deciding to trek/swim up to Hammerfell only to have to move inland?
And how difficult/lag inducing would the activator wall be? Theoretically speaking, of course :P
How is Tamriel Rebuilt tackling this issue for Morrowind?

YOU MAY IGNORE WHAT'S WRITTEN BELOW OR YOU MAY RIDICULE ME FOR MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE IF YOU WISH. either way, you've been warned.

What about duplicating the 0,0 point or merging world spaces to have two 0,0 points? Would the engine allow this? (please try not to laugh too hard.. .,.)
Or maybe moving the existing Tamriel world space to center out the 0,0 point in an area a bit closer to Hammerfell?

The first one I'm pretty sure is impossible. The second one would require such an extraordinary amount of work that it wouldn't even be worth it, not to mention it would be incompatible with just about every mod out there.

All right. I will learn to love the border. Then again, the quality of the mod itself will more than make up for the border issue.

also known as non-existent :)

I was referring to the esm-ified esp, or what ever the people working on onra's maps are doing. It all goes over my head

Mistahtokyo: 0,0 is the coordinate of the cell right in the middle of the theoretical world. Everything counts out from there, 1,0; -1,0; etc. You can't have two of them. Moving it would require moving everything in Tamriel: exteriors, doors to interiors, AI, scripts, etc. Even if it is possible (which I'm not sure of), it would be very difficult.

I just want to make sure - this is a landmass, correct. No quests or things-to-do yet, right? If so, now modders have new areas to play in. Come on, bring on your creativity! :toughninja: :foodndrink:

Also, is there a passage from DC- Sutch Reborn to Rihad? I think they are right across from each other...

Hammerfell itself is a landmass (with some interiors, NPCs, and mudcrabs). The border forts in Cyrodiil do however have quests :)

No Sutch support, or any other mod support really.

Does it include LODs of the vanilla world space when you're viewing from the Hammerfell world space?

Yep, it does. A bit of Rihad is also included in the Tamriel worldspace for immersion purposes.

Well, I'm sitting in my classroom eating a granola bar in place of dinner while trying to catch up on my Hammerfell-related posting, so no :P There will be a cleaned version of the files, courtesy of the ever-wonderfull Arthmoor, alongside an updated read me listing conflicts and error solutions sometime between thursday and sunday. I won't have time to work on any patches earlier than friday. Someone else is welcome to try, of course.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1114870-relzwipz-hammerfell/page__view__findpost__p__16367800 of my FAQ is up. It covers this project's relationship to other Hammerfell mods.

Today I visited Hammerfell. Really great work so far Lady Nerevar!

I thought I'd add some modfications to the environment - general clutter to liven' things up that will add some neatness to the landscape.

Congrats on the release Lady Nerevar and team, it's awesome to seeing a province mod actually released, even if it is only an alpha. Looking forward to exploring Hammerfell a little! :)

This is amazing news!

I've been on these forums for quite some years and remember when this mod was beginning.
It's come such a long way now, can't wait until the beta and actual release comes out.
There's even a Black Marsh worldspace being created. I can definitely see all of Tamriel being built.

Great work Hammerfell team, this is good progress for your project. I see how your team only has four scripters, that's
going to be a lot more work in the next release. But I got faith you guys will finish the project, you've all been doing it for years
and its slowly becoming its own separate game.

Hmm.. judging by the comments here, I suppose I'm the only one who goes to Hammerfell and sees almost no land. Lots of rocks and trees, and a few buildings (and the models look GREAT btw), but all floating. Maybe my download was corrupt? I have both the ESMs and the ESP loaded.

I was actually making some a while back but I didn't include them in this release. More are always welcome, though we'd have to make sure that they match stylistically.

The contributor list in the download is anyone who has ever contributed to the release. The vast majority of the people listed there have been gone for years. I think Herenius Volsinius (who has been handling my AI) can make quests, but thats about it.

Make sure TR_OoT_Main.esm is loaded first in your load order, and Hammerfell.esm 2nd. That should take care of the problem.

Yeah, that was actually my load order the first time, then I tried switching the two this morning (even though I assumed it didn't matter), and no difference. When I get home I'll try downloading it again and overwriting, because even though that's a huge stretch, I just can't imagine what else could be causing the problem.

Arthmoor was actually having a similar problem. He said that making an esp that modifies Hammerfell somehow and loading it fixed the problem somewhat. Its worth a try.

Also, could you post your load order so we can maybe determine if there is a conflict or something?
